Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
Second half stats for defense:
23 plays, 1 first down, 57 yards (23 of those came on the failed 4th down conversion).
That is a dominating defense. Way to go Coach Woody!!

One of their fans on the Sun Belt board made the observation that we won because Petrino got out coached in the second half. Our coaches did a good job of making the proper adjustments to allow the team to make the comeback.

So....you put it back...against the wishes of those with the power to edit you? Ballsy.

It wasn't meant to be political commentary just mentioning a name in the context of exciting things to do for Moscow residents but next time just PM me and I'll change it or delete the entire post and tell me why. Not a fan of seeing a post altered.

I'm not a fan of altering or deleting posts either, but this is going to be a place about App sports; free of anything political.

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
This may have been mentioned earlier as I didn't take time to read the comments during the game as I'm sure they were negative ---
Those Idaho unis were some of the ugliest I have seen (not counting the crap like Florida was wearing)
Also this kick might have been low but you can't let an inside guy come in unblocked ---

Saw this too during the game and was wondering what the right side of the line was doing?! Like some kind of lunge technique. Head scratcher for sure.

Did it on the Rubino FG as well. That time, the right side reached up and tripped the Idaho defender who tried to leap over.QueencityApp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2017 5:52 pmSaw this too during the game and was wondering what the right side of the line was doing?! Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
Kick still looks low to me, but you are right, blocking on that side was awful.
I also noticed several offensive plays where our online blocking was bad too. Definitely an area for improvement.
Happy for the win and no penalties.

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
Has anyone noticed we are in first place in the sun belt and yet to play at our best? I think that is impressive. And I don’t think I have seen an App defense play as well as they did fourth quarter Saturday. That was a total shut down

pointing out negative OR pointing out what has to be cleaned up to get better?

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
What the hell kind of blocking is that? All this guy had to do was hop over an arm. The kick never had a chance to be low or high or right or left this guy had it smothered almost as soon as the ball left Rubino’s foot. But seriously, is this the kind of blocking on fg and xp’s they are coaching these days? If so, they better have a plan B!

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
The way the 2 far right blockers are just merely leaning and stretching out an arm to touch the next player, as if their arms are all that's needed. The way they're so deliberate about that method, it's got to be what the coaches have told them to do. It doesn't even seem like they're aware of the need to block those guys, they're just taking up space. This particular blocked kick is not Rubino's fault at all IMO, it's the blocking scheme that's being utilized that's the problem. I'm no expert though.

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
It looks like the linemen on the right are looking down at the ground and not at the players in front of them. You have to see what is coming in order to react. I expect we won't see that again...at least I hope not.
