Not going to happen. The coaching staff is perfectly happy with the penalties and will do nothing to stop them. Have they not proven that to us yet?Appstate10 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2017 6:29 pmTerrible play calling. There was a 4th and 1 that we went for and didn't get at a pretty decent spot on the field that I thought we should have kicked a FG on. Sure would have been nice to have 3 more.
Penalties killed us too. We have got to become more disciplined.

I'm glad the attempt at listening to and watching this game was unsuccessful.

Re: MOUNTAIN MEN vs. MINUTEMEN!!!!!
No argument there but we are averaging 100 yards in penalties in our non conference games and that lack of discipline is what takes those 14 points away.

Re: MOUNTAIN MEN vs. MINUTEMEN!!!!!
First of all on the penalties - I still don't know what happened on several of them as the announcers couldn't explain them - secondly, refs can call a legitimate penalty on every play if they so choose - this game I believe the refs were going for the record - I hate their QB got hurt but I am still not sure it was an illegal hit - he saw our guy coming, he didn't lead with his helmet and I don't think it was a clip - a lot of things were really bad in this game and the refs did their part -

I'm jealous. I just signed up for an extra sports package at 13 bucks a month to watch this abortion.NoLongerLurking wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2017 6:44 pmI'm glad the attempt at listening to and watching this game was unsuccessful.

Holding on offense isn't always a lack of discipline - somebody is holding on every play ---

Following the Arky State model here so far. Which I’m for if it wins us the conference. But I’m not crazy about it.

Is anyone else having trouble with posting on this site now? I have to hit the submit button two or three times to get it to post and sometimes even when it does, it gets stuck on the reply box and I have to click to go all the way back to the first page. Annoying as hell. Especially when you are already in a foul mood from the game.

Re: MOUNTAIN MEN vs. MINUTEMEN!!!!!
This is pretty much the same team that we have watched all season. The difference this time is that we were on the losing end of a close game. We are very inconsistent and undisciplined, and we don't have the overall talent and experience to overcome that every time we play.
Perhaps this is what we need. Winning close games didn't seem to change our play on the field, maybe this loss is a wake up call.

I am also very surprised that we played the dreaded PREVENT defense on that last drive - You know what they say about PREVENT defense ...............................

Kind of expected it. We just aren’t that good this year, OL maybe? The injuries have made it worse.

I think the OL is the route cause of the offensive woes. More specifically the run blocking. Young receivers do not help the situation.

Re: MOUNTAIN MEN vs. MINUTEMEN!!!!!
I'm reminded of the Billy Joel lyrics:
" I've lived long enough to have learned; The closer you get to the fire, the more you get burned."
We had it coming. Now, let's regroup. There's a lot of football left to play.
Go APP!

Re: MOUNTAIN MEN vs. MINUTEMEN!!!!!
Ticked me off almost as much as freshmen putting the ball on the ground 50% of the time they touched it. The last drive is on the staff. They lost this one as much as the players. Should have known better.
