Re: Bowl Projections ESPN
I think App gets the Cure Bowl. Just a hunch but Ark St will get NO, Troy gets Mobile, and Ga St gets the Camelia.

Re: Bowl Projections ESPN
You may be right - but why would the Camellia Bowl want GaSt over APP? - their attendance is poor ---

Re: Bowl Projections ESPN
My opinion is based solely on two beliefs. 1) Potential for decreased ticket sales being a third straight trip, and 2) close proximity of Montgomery to Atlanta.

The battle of the two most successful FCS/FBS transitions, and a rekindled rivalry. Works for me.
I still hate Marshall.

Re: Bowl Projections ESPN
It's my understanding that most bowl projections are strictly based off conference standings. Hell, we aren't even eligible yet. Sun Belt doesn't do it that way if I remember correctly. The bowls get to pick who they want...I might be wrong. New Orleans who I think gets first pick isn't happening if that's the case. Arkansas State has already proven they can bring large crowds to New Orleans.

Re: Bowl Projections ESPN
Yes - I think you are right - NO gets the first pick and they can pick any eligible SB team and they have shown historically they will pick LA-L if eligible and after that pick the most "local" team ---/\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2017 8:25 amIt's my understanding that most bowl projections are strictly based off conference standings. Georgia State would take all 100 people they have at their home games to Montgomery.

You may be right. I still don't see us going back to Montgomery three years in a row though.

Re: Bowl Projections ESPN
Been thinking the same about us in Orlando, assuming we actually get eligible. I think we were already going to push for a different spot, and I have to think disappointing season + third straight trip to Montgomery would be a recipe for a big drop in attendance.
Question is, what happens if ULL is eligible and NOLA takes them? I would think the two Alabama bowls would go to stAte and Troy, then Cure chooses between us and GSU and the other gets shipped across the country.

Re: Bowl Projections ESPN
Correct - the one downside to Orlando. It's on CBS Sports Network, which isn't the most widely available or easiest to find.

Re: Bowl Projections ESPN
I'm OK with the Cure Bowl not being available through ESPN. I would be there as it is a two hour trip for me. But aside from that, it brings in a better opponent from perception.
