Great work, FireMoose. We all appreciate your efforts (AppGrad78 also).

Any chance we offer partial scholarships to a select few incoming freshmen? I know Coach Moore did not use this approach but Coach Satt could. It does seem like we have a few more scholarships to offer when you add a couple offseason departures to the available number.

Also, any info from Vinson or Collins via twitter regarding their intentions? Vinson in particular could be a signing day decision dependent on Rutgers. Any other concerns of the 13 commits not yet signed or in school? I did not renew my Rivals membership recently so I'm relying on the MMB and twitter for recruiting news. I'm not asking for any info which is only posted on the Rivals site.

well, Rivals seems to be the only place that has info on Vinson. they posted today that Satt made an impromptu home visit this past Friday and it sounds like it went well enough to get Vinson to assure us of his committment

The way I understand it, today and tomorrow is supposed to be a "dead period" in recruiting, meaning colleges aren't permitted to contact prospects. In theory, it's supposed to give high school athletes time to mull their decisions without more pressure. The loophole is prospects are allowed to contact their college recruiters. Lots of monkey business occurs during this time, and I won't feel comfortable until the LOIs are signed.

You are correct, on both counts. Recruiters aren't supposed to contact recruits but they can contact anyone they want. Main reason our coaches hit the road and air so hard these past few days. They wanted to solidify up commits like they did with Vinson but they also wanted to re-contact a few undecided players we've been in the hunt for just in case. But like you I won't feel safe until the faxes ALL come rolling in.

And Cincy, mtnjax is correct about Vinson. There was a story on Rivals this am about SS's flying to see him to tell him we still wanted him bad. He has not said one word about his Rutgers visit on Twitter, not even if he had a good time. I know you were on Rivals and you've guessed 78 and I try not to post stories that are only on Rivals. When we can confirm it through other sources then we feel it can be posted anywhere. And from what I was told Collins is not a soft as he once was. He's been tweeting about signing day and his account still says App State Commit so I think he's looking better but I won't count him or anyone until that LOI comes in.

Thanks again for the update. Yeah, I respect the Rivals pay site and hope to rejoin when site becomes more active again. I think both of you have been fair with posting decisions and I don't expect anyone to relay exclusive info. Twitter in particular though has made recruiting news a different world than it has been in earlier years. I will also be nervous about our strong commitment crop until the signed LOI's are faxed in.

Beau Nunn's brother appears to be coming to App State now too.

Boys gone have matching hats for signing day!
— Beau Nunn#54⚡ (@B_nunn54) <a href=" 5, 2013

TampaBay.com says RB David Emmanuel (6-0, 185) of Pasco High School in Dade City, Fla., does not plan to sign an LOI tomorrow.

Per his twitter DB/WR Kevin Green (6'0" 180) of High Point Central High School in High Point, NC says he will decide between App and Presbyterian before the end of the month. Another walk-on I've been watching.

I've heard rumblings about that but nothing firm. I usually don't put something up unless I can get it confirmed from at least two seperate sources. I'm working on it.

Nathaniel Norwood appears to be a very soft verbal....could flip to Chattanooga.

If DT D.J. Jones still holds an offer from us, he could fall our way. University of Louisiana Lafayette recently pulled their offer. Jones is waiting for a last minute offer from Tenn. if they doesn't come, he may be looking to land somewhere.

looks like Jones is playing a dangerous game, appears UL just got tired of waiting so they pulled their offer, Apps not going to wait forever, he better hope Tennessee comes up with the schlorship, or he is going to regret where he ends up.

Not as concerned about Norwood yet. He doesn't say a whole lot on twitter but his teammate Tyrell Brown does and he was all over it when Norwood committed last week. Hasn't said a thing about him de-committing or tried to talk him out of it, like Lee Wright did with Hunter Nunn. I would be surprised since it's been widely reported that his final two were JSU and App. I haven't been able to find one service that shows him with an offer from UTC. Maybe 78' has but I haven't. That being said I am not going to count ANY recruit as an Mountaineer until that LOI comes in but I loved seeing the pic from Vinson with the App gear. Also see good things from Collins.

On another note, Devan Robbins committed to The Citadel today. He was the RB from South Point that several people e-mailed SS1 & SS2 about (Kgfish brought it up on here). Doesn't appear it was a qualifying problem after all. Just looks like they weren't interested.

I am still running each name we have on the master list to see what info I can dig up on them and, since I'm sick and can't make it to the signing day tomorrow, I will be here updating, as long as my internet doesn't go down again.

Firemoose, I was just checking on Nathaniel's target list. Chattanooga didn't come up. But when his high school coach says he isn't a firm commit, then in my book that's cause for concern. He's a really promising linebacker and I would hate to lose him to a conference rival.

I agree 100%. 6A Ga State player of the year would be a loss. I'm always concerned when a coach says something like that as they are the last line of defense, so to speak. If UTC is involved I would love to know when they came on since Brown hasn't said a thing about it. Hope the coach hasn't jumped in. They can carry a lot of influence.

78' you can put LB Caleb Fuller (5-11, 220) of New Hanover High School in Wilmington on the walk-on commit list. He's tweeting it now.
