Series vs Georgia Southern Moved To The Stink
Re: Series vs Georgia Southern Moved To The Stink
Boone Goone , sorry to burst your bubble but he won’t be. It was always be football at this school and the wrestling coach and t&f will be up there. If he ever gets close to what pollard did here it will be a miracle. Then he will be gone the following year

Your opinion vs. my opinion...only time will tell. But people who know baseball, inside and outside of the program, agree with me.Apppstate wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 10:08 amBoone Goone , sorry to burst your bubble but he won’t be. Well, if we're going to be a "one trick pony", I'd rather it be football than anything else. No doubt!!Apppstate wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 10:08 amBoone Goone , sorry to burst your bubble but he won’t be. Prior to the GS series, out of 297 D1 baseball teams, we ranked 292 in batting average and 275 in scoring. Our biggest problem as inability to hit and score runs. And when, we get runners in scoring position, we can't bring them home. Our team ERA ranks 175, which relatively speaking, is much better.

Re: Series vs Georgia Southern Moved To The Stink
I know slightly less about baseball than I do about basketball. I've always been a football girl. Still, I have season tickets for both baseball and basketball even though my work keeps me off the mountain during most of both seasons. The bottom line for me is supporting our student athletes as much as I can.
Do I see issues with both offensive production and pitching in this season's diamond Apps? Yes. Do I understand that Kermit is in his second year and is trying to rebuild what fell apart after Pollard's departure? You bet I do. Do I think we should expect excellence from every team that represents App State? Absolutely.
I'm not willing to throw in the towel just yet on either the baseball team or the baseball coach, and I look forward to making it to some games once tax season is over.

If serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you.

Kermit Smith has a track record of success. We have to live with the faith that he can right the ship. But, let's not kid ourselves into thinking there are any guarantees playing in this very good baseball league.

It’s not like he has finished year four with a .34 winning percentage.

True, so far we have beaten all non-P5 Div I teams inside North Carolina, if we take Gardner Webb tomorrow that streak will remain. But, Gardner-Webb is much better than west carolina and NC Central.

We could house all of our climate challenged sports programs there. Golf certainly would benefit.
