Not sure but we host Louisiana for the 2nd straight year.

This is the 1st year of divisions so they are implementing a new scheduling format. Louisiana is visiting us two years in a row.

UNCC would make a great night game, it is hot in Charlotte during September. G-W home game would also make a good night game in Boone1 Both games have very little travel time for visiting teams.

Same reason Louisiana is coming here two years in a row. I guess it allows for balancing out the schedules going forward.

I'm sure Hud is happy that he got fired now. Two trips to Boone in as many years would surely cause him to die of dysentery.

Re: 2018 FB schedule coming out Tuesday
Maybe they are showcasing the premiere rivalry on Thanksgiving weekend given the past few seasons...Gonzo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 3:23 pmI like having the toughest two home games at the end of the season when the Mountain weather makes an impact on our Deep South opponents. Plus, it's less likely to be in conflict with the Panthers' home slate (I type selfishly as a Yosef Club member AND PSL owner).
Dodging week day games entirely is really unexpected and awesome for attendance averages.
Troy, our biggest challenger for control of the east, is the week before the title game which sets up a de facto playoff for the championship. I LOVE this new format already.
My only complaint is the Stink game landing in the middle of the season and after a game week rather than a bye. The Sun Belt should showcase its premier rivalry on rivalry weekend, or at least toward the end of the season, and an emotional game on the road after a short week will be difficult. Those circumstances could create an equalizer for a vastly inferior Stink team and it makes me nervous given our win streak and their recent coaching acquisition.
Overall I love the schedule!
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Unbelievable. I get that having no weekday home games is a plus, but this schedule might just make our decision on season tickets for us. 3 games on consecutive weekends in September, 4 if you count Charlotte, just isn't doable.

“Unbelievable” would be a great word to describe having six Saturday home games in Boone in this day and age no doubt!!!

This schedule is as good as you could ask for. Just skip the GWebb game if needed. Having 4 home games prior to late October is a plus. Plus weather usually isn't poor back to back weeks in November.

Tonight is the moment of truth: when we find out how many Panthers home games share a weekend with App home games.

Middle school Wednesday, JV Thursday, High School Friday, APP SATURDAY, Panthers Sunday if I have the energy. And I am married to sports nut who goes with me.

I hear ya, love my Mountaineer Football and Fall, favorite time of the year. Love those Friday Night Lights (Watauga High and Chopticon High - up my way), the Apps on Saturday/Thurday. I would include the Redskins, however I will not, for obvious reasons.

Re: 2018 FB schedule coming out Tuesday
This will be my 8th year as a season ticket holder and 12th since my freshman year. I can't remember a tougher stretch for fans than our opening 5 weekends (Penn State + UNCC). If anyone makes all 5 in a row, you're in a special tier of App State fandom.
