Myrtle Beach would be great. We'd pack it by ourselves.

If Charleston doesn’t get one of the three I’ll be bummed.

More teams will be in bowl games than the NCAA Basketball Tourney.
Only 73 teams had winning records last year (including Non-Bowl eligible teams).
11 teams would have had at best a .500 record.
Until all bowl games are ranked by tier, (Champion, Major, Mid-Major, Minor) all but the championship bowls are meaningless.

That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

I love the thought of bowl games in Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Savannah, or anywhere else within driving distance from NC, but there are too many teams playing in these events already. I personally don't think any team with a .500 record should be eligible.

Tell that to the players.appgrouch wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 12:02 pmMore teams will be in bowl games than the NCAA Basketball Tourney.

Never understood the line of thinking that, a game is "meaningless" simply because it isn't in the progression towards a national championship. To the players and fans involved, no game is ever meaningless.

I have been to three bowl games in my life, Montgomery (twice) and Mobile. I love the bowl games and like both of those locations. MB, or Greenville would be great additions. I doubt that I would attend NO and I am most certain that I would not go to Arizona.

There's going to be a lot more losing teams in bowl games. BTW, what stadium is in Myrtle Beach?

I’m guessing Coastal’s stadium with that ugly teal field. I’m not aware of any stadiums in MB big enough to host a bowl game. I guess saying MB instead of Conway sounds better.

Ha! Good point. The Toledo players and fans would probably try to argue that it was a "meaningless" game. I stand corrected.

It is the argument that SEC teams use every year. See Auburn vs UCF

That article says Greenville, NC for the possible third site. That sounds like a fun holiday destination. Been saying since we moved up that Boone would be a nice bowl location, better than Greenville anyway.Lowcountry App wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 2:45 pmHere you go...Lowcountry App wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 2:33 pmI’m guessing Coastal’s stadium with that ugly teal field. I thought Doug Shaw Stadium was larger than Coastal, would be good if high schools are finished with championships. Sarcasm y'all.

Charleston might not be an option with The Citadel reducing their stadium seating to 14,000. We’ll see.
