Hot seat rankings
Satt falls under "safe and secure" along with Brown (Troy) and Elliott (GSU). A total of 41 coaches are seen as "safe and secure".
Not surprising:
Lambert (UNCC) and Montgomery (ECU) on the hot seat with "win or be fired".
Surprising:
Moglia (CCU) is considered "untouchable" and is 1 of 11 coaches falling into this category along with names like Saban and Swinney.

Re: Hot seat rankings
If you have a coach that has won more than he's lost and a billionaire at a G5 program, I don't see why that is surprising.

I wouldn't put Kirby Smart as untouchable yet. I'd have him safe and secure. And I'd change Jim Harbaugh to pressure is mounting.

Re: Hot seat rankings
I’ll bet someone $20 that Lambert gets fired right after the App/UNCC game. Their new AD needs to make a statement and what better time than right after they’re drubbed by a school their wee fan base irrationally considers inferior. And in front of a massive black and gold audience in their own stadium, to boot. They’re fans are sandbagging now, saying they don’t expect to win, but they’ll be super pissed when they actually have to watch it happen.

Re: Hot seat rankings
What’s the over/under on margin of victory by App for UNCC to fire Lambert? 20, 30, 40?

Re: Hot seat rankings
This times 49 to the 12th power.
They have at least 2 big ticket items they failed to accomplish that took the help of some Appalachian hillbillies.
1) Their freedom! Unable to defeat Cornwallis' men during the Revolutionary War, Charlotte was occupied by the Brits. That is until his left flank, commanded by Ferguson, was all but eliminated by the Overmountain Men at the Battle of Kings Mountain forcing Cornwallis to retreat back to SC, which many consider the turning point of the war.
2) A new AD! Once the AOL dial up connected, it only took a few App fans a couple of months what the 49er fan base was unsuccessful at for more than 2 decades.

Don't forget the goat-powered generator that got them internet machines up and runnin' for the AOL.

Re: Hot seat rankings
I don’t think that the number on the scoreboard will tip the scales as much as the amount of black and gold in the stands will. A stadium even 50% visitors should be a red flag that something needs to be done to energize the fan base and get the home fans excited.

Don't stop scoring until the clock says 0:00. I want a drubbing, at or above our game at ODU level, the ODU fans remember that game to this day.

Or to them it never happened, like the Virginia Tech game people on here claim to have happened.manonabuffalo wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 8:54 amDon't stop scoring until the clock says 0:00. I want a drubbing, at or above our game at ODU level, the ODU fans remember that game to this day.

We'll win big, but I'll take that bet and the cut off point will be the start of UNC-C's next game.Gonzo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 13, 2018 12:42 pmI’ll bet someone $20 that Lambert gets fired right after the App/UNCC game. If they lose to Fordham in Week 1, then yeah, this is possible.Gonzo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 13, 2018 12:42 pmI’ll bet someone $20 that Lambert gets fired right after the App/UNCC game. If they're 1-4 by the end of September after losing to App, ODU, UMass and UAB, there's a bye week which I think will be the time. If Lambert stays through the season, I don't see a single CUSA win for them.

Re: Hot seat rankings
On the UNCC board most of their fans seem to think it will take a lose to Fordham to even begin the discussion.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: Hot seat rankings
That 49-0 ODU game is still a very impressive performance. Out team showed up and whipped the pants off those guys. It was a complete demolishing of an opponent. We clicked on all facets of the game and still could have put more on the board. I smile every time I think of that game. I would like to see more of those. That would be NICE for UNCC and I wouldn't even mind taking a knee at the end with that appropriate score.

Re: Hot seat rankings
If we take four straight knees inside the 10-yard line up 49-0 in the fourth quarter and keep the score the same, it would be better than winning 70-0.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2018 9:53 amThat 49-0 ODU game is still a very impressive performance. I believe they will fire him after the announcement of Grady Davis's birthday.
