Re: Malachi Jones
Malachi Jones’ grind through pro football has resulted in an NFL contract.
The 24-year-old wide receiver began this season with the Gwinnett-based Atlanta Havoc of the American Arena League and then became the Arena Football League Rookie of the Year, showing enough that the Chicago Bears signed him Thursday.
Jones, who played high school football for Central Gwinnett and Wesleyan, follows the path of his older brother T.J., a standout receiver for the Detroit Lions, and his late father Andre, who played at Notre Dame and in the NFL. His younger brother Jahmai also is a professional athlete, one of the top prospects in the Los Angeles Angels organization.

This is AWESOME! My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting him in Montgomery his senior year. Such a humble and well rounded young man. Wishing him the best with da Bears.

Re: Malachi Jones
Malachi was part of a very strong receiving corps at App and I never thought he got enough props, although he earned plenty. He was a very reliable receiver with great size. Really hope he has a great time in the NFL! I absolutely believe he has the tools!
Congrats, Malachi!

Re: Malachi Jones
What kind of Atlanta residing North Carolina educated Panther fan are you?
In all seriousness, Malachi will be on tonight at the Hall of Fame game. I imagine the Bears will want to sort of their receiver depth so I'd expect quite a bit of passing tonight.

Re: Malachi Jones
Didn't see him play at all Friday? Perhaps becoming acclimated with verbiage to have a shot to get in to show what he can do? Or a planned practice squad stash?
