Re: Penn St prediction
Agree. It is a great assessment of both sides. The ONLY thing that I would disagree with is the comment, a win and it is smooth sailing the rest of the way. Totally disagree with that. Teams are going to load up to stop the run all year and dare Thomas, et al to beat us through the air. Doubt that we will be consistent enough in the passing game to do that week in and week out. The tools are there to do it. But are they sharp enough is the lingering question.

Teams have been loading up to stop the run for the past three years. If our rebuilt right side OL is clicking, we'll be just fine in the Belt.

Re: Penn St prediction
Agreed. Fair assessment. If we can squeak out a win at Penn State, it could make things harder for the season as well with added expectation. But hopefully we can get in our groove and just get things clicking for the rest of the season, regardless of the result of the Penn State game.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 6:06 amAgree. Re: Penn St prediction
Very true. Probable difference between then and now is that we are replacing a lot of pieces on defense. May give up more points than what has become the norm. Which will in turn put more pressure on a talented, yet unproven signal caller.

Complementary yes but they show a 21 point victory and Vegas line is App +23............I've no clue with our new QB and oline how we will do.

Re: Penn St prediction
App has to run the ball well enough to show down the Lions pass rush. On defense App has to make them work their way down the field and can't give up cheap points.

Re: Penn St prediction
This seems to be a pretty good take, but even with an optimistic outlook he's predicting 34-13.
I'm really hoping for solid play from Zac, no injuries, and a respectful effort. I hate to think this way, but i'm just trying to stay realistic.
BTW, a lot of Penn St fans are calling us their best OOC game. I know they're playing Kent St and Pitt, but getting more respect than 5-7 Pitt out of the ACC may not of happened a year or two ago. We are obviously gaining more respect as we go.
Let's give them a good show!

That's refreshing after all the stuff Dawgz fans said prior to our match up last year.yosef13 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 9:41 amThis seems to be a pretty good take, but even with an optimistic outlook he's predicting 34-13.

Re: Penn St prediction
Pitt will play us tough simply because it is a rivalry and Pat Narduzzi places a premium on the game. With that said, I think App St may be the better team, particularly if the QB situation works out. I’m always worried the first game of the year. With all the new starters we have, this year is no exception. We are fortunate to have good leadership on the team and the new staters have a lot of experience, so I am optimistic that we will be okay. It make take a few games for us to settle in though.
I thought the prediction was very fair.

Thanks for your insight. I think it should be a good season for both of us.getmyjive11 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 11:45 amPitt will play us tough simply because it is a rivalry and Pat Narduzzi places a premium on the game. What's the buzz in State College about the mass shooting threat at Beaver Stadium?

Re: Penn St prediction
This is one time I wish we were playing a formidable P5 team later in the season/schedule.....albeit I realize Penn State will be better a few games in as well. If our intangible ?s work out App could quite possibly be the best team as a whole we have ever had with more experience and staying injury free. But first game test at PSU not feeling any confidence especially with front line situations.
KICK ASS!!!

The FBI would do better to investigate Franklin and the rest of the frauds who schedule up undermanned and outclassed schools like Appalachian State (Where did they find this one at??), just so they can pad up their Power Rank stats. The lowest form of sportsmanship. I will be rooting on A-State to kick the everloving rear ends of PSU all up and down the field.

Re: Penn St prediction
Very illogical. If we are as bad as River Rat states then we are not helping the power ratnk of Penn St if they beat us.
