Streaming Options For Penn St Game
If this has been discussed previously, I'm sorry. I don't have the Big 10 Network on my cable provider. Does the Big 10 Network have streaming of its games online? Or will the game also be part of the ESPN 3 or ESPN + package?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Go Apps!!

Re: Streaming Options For Penn St Game
Do you not have Big 10 Network because your cable provider doesn't offer it, or because you don't subscribe to that package? It doesn't look like App game will be on ESPN+ or ESPN3
Not sure if this will help but I found these 2 articles.

Personally I'm going to subscribe to the Big Ten Network before the game and then cancel it afterward like I did when we played Michigan.

If you have Spectrum like I do (I hate it, by the way), I just added the Digitier 2 package which includes the Big Ten Network to my subscription for $12 per month. There are a number of other channels included with that package that I don't currently have, so I may end up keeping it.

This won't work unless you are subscribed to BTN as part of your tv packageRick83 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 21, 2018 1:50 pmTry this Big Ten Network streaming option:

I think the BTN and Comcast haven't worked out a deal yet. Hopefully they will get it figured out soon.

You can’t just subscribe to BTN.com unless you live outside the country.
I have Comcast so I may have to go the streaming route as well. My suggestion is to sign up for YouTube TV, PlayStation Vue, Hulu TV, Fubu TV or DirecTV Now. They all have a 7 day free trial, so you can sign up, watch the game, and then cancel. You can watch all of them on your computer or wireless device, or you can buy a Roku, Fire TV or Apple TV to watch on the television.

Re: Streaming Options For Penn St Game
The crappy part with the BTN and Xfinity deal is we potentially won't know anything until the day of the game. I'm sure I can find a bar showing it here, but I'd much rather be able to watch at home.

A free trial of the various streaming services (Youtube, Directv NOW, Hulu, etc) will get it for you.

If you are an AT&T Wireless customer you can get Directvnow for $25 off per month. Even if you are not, I think they have that same special for 3 months. I think BTN is in the 2nd tier of pricing. I have the lowest tier currently, but plan to upgrade from August - December. All that being said, I will be at the game

Re: Streaming Options For Penn St Game
Does anyone know if there will be a viewing party in Greensboro for the game? Would love to be with a bunch of Mountaineers to watch. If not, we'll buy the BTN package and watch with the three we have here in our home.

Im not sure. There never seems to be anything going on in Greensboro. App Alumni associations biggest missed opportunity IMO.

Re: Streaming Options For Penn St Game
I agree, there were some planned events a few years ago but it just stopped cold turkey. I don't have time to take anything else on but I wish someone would step up and get it going again in our area. We have quite a few Alums in the area and I'm sure those not going to games like the PS game would be interested in getting together somewhere.boonetown1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 6:53 amIm not sure. Re: Streaming Options For Penn St Game
Here are all of the announced viewing parties. One in Alamance County & another in Forsyth. If you are interested in hosting a viewing party I encourage you to reach out to the Alumni Association - they will be happy to get the word out and direct e-mail all Alumni in the greater Greeensboro area. I bet they will also send you a box of swag (pom poms, megaphones, stickers, etc.) to pass out at the event.boonetown1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 6:53 amIm not sure. These viewing parties are hosted by local Chapters and Volunteer Alumni. While promoted and supported by the Alumni Association they are organized and planned by local
Volunteers. Most chapters are organically grown in that folks having same thoughts y’all are expressing reaching out to the Alumni Association and asking “what can I do to help?” OR “I am organizing this and want to get the word out to Alumni in the area”

So, it seems that this was only for states in the Big Ten footprint along with DC and NoVa. All other states will have BTN available to them through the Sports add-on package, but it probably will not be available by Saturday.

Re: Streaming Options For Penn St Game
Sort of topical here, forgive me if you feel it's a diversion.
I signed up for ESPN+ in June knowing the deal the Sun Belt had signed and to watch CFL games all season. I've been using WatchESPN and ESPN3 previous for the same reasons anyway. All has been good with the pay service (better streaming quality, fewer lag holds, etc.) until this past Saturday when I'm trying to watch the Saskatchewan CFL game. I typically will plug my phone into the TV to get a better experience, but the ESPN app would not allow the stream to play on neither my iPhone nor my iPad when it's plugged into an external monitor/TV. I was successful with the MacBook, but what a pain in the tookus not to be able to "export" the stream from a mobile device to a TV. Has anyone else tried it, had issues?
