Re: FLORENCE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM
We came in by 9. But it was flooding in places behind us. From what Im reading the best way to come in is by 378 and 701 to 22. My maps app show that way to be clear.

Re: FLORENCE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM
We evacuated to Alabama (I know, not my idea) and we came up through Atlanta, to Columbia, and we’re passing through Georgetown now. Hopefully 17 is clear enough to get to Brunswick county.

Re: FLORENCE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM
The tornado that did turn out causing a fatality happened a little over a mile from where I live, but I worked late and am marking myself “safe”. Thanks for thinking about me.

Glad you are safe. Saw the video on TWC.
I have in-laws in Chesterfield and Richmond with kids in school. Said many schools kept kids until almost 5 pm.

It was a mess for a while, but nothing like what they’re facing elsewhere. I do know there will be second gurssers, as most school divisions were out Friday for a relative non-event, and this happened today.

Re: FLORENCE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM
Sorry I just now saw this. We made it back around 3:30 with no issues. 17 was clear up to Supply in Brunswick County. I don't know if it's clear further up the road because I didn't have to go into Leland/Wilmington though.

Hey AS77. I tried to respond to your PM, but I get a message that you cannot receive PM's. Anyway, I am not going to Boone this weekend. I guess I will watch on espn+. Still getting up yard debris and hoping my wife gets back this afternoon.appstate77 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 17, 2018 11:11 amWe came in by 9. But it was flooding in places behind us. Re: FLORENCE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM
My wife and daughters actually came from High Point today. They were able to come via I-40 to close to Kenansville, then 24 to Jacksonville, then 17 South to Wilmington and Calabash. My wife is bringing my chainsaw from the western end of the state, I have 3 trees down in the backyard and two more leaning with roots exposed. Gonna be busy for a while...appstate77 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 21, 2018 1:53 pmI need to check my settings then. I have been receiving PMs. Oh well. Im not going either too much uncertainty on flooding. Seeing recent weather reports I hope Florence is not an issue again in a few days.

Not out of the question, although forecast to be in a reduced state. We don’t need any rain right now.

Re: FLORENCE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM
Just got an email from the property management company at True Blue in Pawleys Island where we have a 2nd floor unit. Mentions POSSIBLE catastrophic flooding and more water than the area has ever seen. 4 rivers has yet to crest and they are saying to keep a watch for the next 2 weeks. Have read that U-hauls are in short supply as people near the rivers are moving out belongings. Prayers to all who have been and still might be affected.
