Mountain Music

Unread post by Saint3333 » Sun Sep 23, 2018 2:04 pm

I really enjoyed the Mountain Music before our entrance, I hope they make this standard. Probably only need one verse and the chorus.

It's a song that had NOTHING to do with Boone or NC..... It has the word mountain in it. While I love the song, it is dumb for us to adopt it. It was originally played because Jerry Moore asked to have it played when he was here.

It’s a song that has stood the test of time and got the crowd engaged - let’s keep it.

Yeah, but go back to the studio version... The live version they played yesterday is good, but not as clear....

What does Enter Sandman have to do with VT or Virginia? What does Jump have to do with UW or Wisconsin?

Some lively Del McCoury would suit me.

I hate country music and have no problem with Mountain Music.

The new rock-ish version yesterday was fine, but I prefer the original.

Not that it matters but some consistency in the intro music might be nice for building a tradition, I like the idea of using Mountain Music. Can't go wrong with Back In Black either I suppose.

I think the crowd goes wild for 7 Nation Army more than Mountain Music. I know my kids get up for it and the students seem to really like it and sing along even when they music stops....

Hope we keep it going. It's a song that could very much become part of our gameday experience and tradition. A timeless classic that's easy for 30,000 to clap and sing along to.

I always like when we used to play Boom by P.O.D. at The Rock. Seven Nation Army is good too. Mountain Music is OK I guess, but I am just not much of a Country Music fan. The P.O.D. ping pong video to Boom is pretty good also (link below).

Penn State played the same five songs over and over. And it worked even if it made them look stuck in the 90s.

Seven Nation Army is so cliche'...everyone does it.

If you want to do a bad ass original entry song with some mountain vibes that pump you up, get the instrumental opening of 'This Old Wheel' by Shooter Jennings and have the guys come strutting out to that. Lol.
