Luckily I'm complaining about this as opposed to the Ark St board.

Kind of remind you of some kid named Riddle down towards Burlington?Yosefus wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 3:37 pmIt definitely makes for long gaps between games.
I vote no more Tuesday games either.
Watched the post game StAte of Anderson and the QB.
I am thankful that we are not in that boat.
Anderson seemed to own it.
The QB acted like a spoiled kid. They are all kids but he seemed to lack a bit of maturity.
Plus we get exposure to pollsters.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 4:05 pmRather play on Tuesday than Thursday. At least you don't play on four days' rest, plus no NFL or P5 competition.
Hopefully the score will help some. We held them to 0 TD's.
Things have changed since then, but ESPN is still a monopoly. At least we don't have to play weekday games against the stink on that obscure ESPNU channel anymore. I still remember some of the gullible folks around here thinking that was valuable exposure. I would like to know what recruit and or donor we picked up because of it.
On paper, they probably make the argument that holding a MAC or SB game on a Tuesday gives a chance for the G5 teams to showcase some of their biggest matchups without competition from the P5. On paper, Arkansas State v. Appalachian State should have been a barn burner of a match. I'm not sure how much exposure we got. I tried to listen to ESPNU on SiriusXM today and didn't hear any mentions, people on here said Sports Center was too busy talking about baseball, etc. so I'm not sure if we got much exposure other than being the only game on that night.AppRolls wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 3:57 pmTuesday night games blow. They don’t make the conference look good....they make it look silly.
Supposedly, ESPN makes the Sun Belt “an offer you can’t refuse.” I’d like to see the numbers to see just what sort of deal it is. Arkansas State gets screwed out of what would likely been one of their best crowds ever just to have a game televised on a Tuesday vs the MLB playoffs. It’s tough enough to grow a fan base with a Sun Belt schedule and then they put all the good matchups on weeknights. #footballisforsaturdays
Even AAC teams play on weeknights. This season alone, UCF has 4 weeknight games (2 Thursday, 2 Friday). They mostly correspond with the "good" matchups: USF, FAU, etc.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 8:09 pmThe only way out of it is start sucking or move to a different conference.
I know. It's a drawback of being a good G5 team. We're just going to have to live with it I think.SayYesToTheRock wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 8:21 pmEven AAC teams play on weeknights. No, I simply did not realize that load of crap is still going on. What a shame for this rivalry. Thanks for the wake up call all the same.
