Louisiana up Next
This may be an improved team over the last couple.
Can get a good read on their game stats.
This could be a trap game with GaSo 5 days after.
Also the big gap between games, we seemed to have some rust on us on offense the first quarter against StAte.
Our guys can use some rest after the physical game last night though.

Re: Louisiana up Next
So.... if we don’t run the option more I will be very upset... was wanting us to call it several times when up the middle prooved to fail early and often the first half of the Arky game.
Anyone know if we even ran it other than the scoring play by Thomas towards the end of the game ?

I have been Leary of how the youth on our team may cause us to slip up and lose focus from time to time. But call it culture or coaching, but this team plays, especially on defense, 110% on every play. Additionally, they seem to fight through the adversity of the moment and play the next play expecting a positive outcome. I don’t see any let up in this team.

Re: Louisiana up Next
We did an option play earlier in the game I think it was a gain for maybe 4-6 yards...I also wish we had done more option plays, I loved watching Armanti utilize it back in the day!

Re: Louisiana up Next
We won 35-9 against a supposed Top Team in the Sun Belt. 35-9 and it wasn't that close. Our offense was pretty vanilla last night. We did run a jet sweep, the jump pass near the goal line and the option on the final TD. But, why should we expose Zack Thomas to excessive hits , when we don't need to. We won by 26 points on the road, with an offense that didn't play it's best game and didn't really open up the playbook.AppStateMtneer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 4:56 pmSo.... if we don’t run the option more I will be very upset... was wanting us to call it several times when up the middle prooved to fail early and often the first half of the Arky game.

Louisiana's rep in recent years is that they look good getting off the bus but you can run the big boys easily.

Watched a replay of Zac’s run. He was freaky fast outrunning the DB’s. He’s already got 2 TD runs of over 60 yards each and he’s only played 5 games.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 9:12 pmWe won 35-9 against a supposed Top Team in the Sun Belt. 35-9 and it wasn't that close. Play action early and often , that will open it up .Otherwise we don't show what we have until we have to .

Good opportunity to work on a few things-adapting offense to life without #25, pass protection, and whatever happened on that missed FG.

Laces were turned in on the FG attempt. I'm sure that was easily saw on film.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 8:29 amGood opportunity to work on a few things-adapting offense to life without #25, pass protection, and whatever happened on that missed FG.

Re: Louisiana up Next
I hate these dang long weeks in between games. I know the spread is not out yet for the Louisiana game, but ESPN has App State's win probability currently at a 96.9% on their matchup predictor. ULaLa is in first place in the Sun Belt West, and they beat Texas State (42-27) on the 6th, but The East division is much stronger than the West this year. The East has 4 out of 5 teams with overall winning records, 10 conference wins versus only 2 conference wins for the West, and most of all THE Appalachian State Mountaineers are in the Sun Belt East division.

I love the comment "I long for the day that UL has a defense like App State."biggie wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 8:39 amIf you are bored for this long time between games again...
