Likely held off on scheduling due to FBS discussions, don't want to enter into any home and home with FCS programs.

Just another half baked post on my part. I'd give my big toe not to have a 20 pg year long bash session like the SB board had though.AppState89 wrote: I don't like Liberty because they think they are some superpower and I hear is how good they are...on and on and on....I just want to put them in their place....any other stuff about them, I could care less too...
Im less than thrilled with a few of their fans too, but that goes for just about every other team with more than 3 posters too. LU thinks they've bought themselves a seat at the Top 25 table, and potentially FBS, with all the facility investments, and a couple million dollars worth of staff, we'll see. IMO if you hire Wagner to coach your OL after his performance at Western, youre playing with a short deck. I dont even see them scratching 1st place in the Big South at high tide.
With CCU and Montana already on the schedule, I think I'd like to see a patriot league team on the schedule, I dont know if any are available though. Theyre respectable yet beatable.
I agree with you 100%

NDSU has two several open dates after this. Would make for a hard schedule for sure but damn it would be fun to watch.

Tougher the better, IMO. If they want to travel, bring 'em on!Blackangold4 wrote:NDSU has two several open dates after this. Would make for a hard schedule for sure but damn it would be fun to watch.

Schedule the Bizzun, and we may just end up playing them twice. If we happened to lose, it would suck hearing what would surely be ESPN's one single talking point, that NDSU had defeated the previous 3 peater on their way to their own 3 peat NC game. If we won, well, tough to win against the same team 2x a season, especially when that team is a 2x NC and has a good coach.asumike83 wrote:Tougher the better, IMO. Totally a rumor....but someone on the Rivals message board said that our two games remaining are LR and Hawaii. Seems unlikely but at least an interesting rumor.

I don't see us flying to Hawaii with two road non-conference games on the schedule including a long trip to Montana. Chuck South and A&T seem much more likely.

Unless...unless, it's part of a home-and-home with a 2014 or 2015 game to be played in Boone..

Or even a 2 for 1 deal.
Again the original poster on Rivals said it was a rumor. At this point no real reason to put any substance to it.

Very interesting. I think Charlie Cobb should already know if we're going to get the invite or not. There are alot of politics behind the scenes on things like this, I imagine he already knows how a majority of SB presidents will vote. March 9th, voting day.

Right, according to the original post they are meeting to discuss expansion.
"The Sun Belt Conference and presidents and athletic directors of its member schools will meet March 9 and discuss future conference membership during the league’s annual basketball tournament in Hot Springs, Ark."

Boonetown, what's your source on that non conference schedule? Or is that just a hunch?
The Hawaii I could believe but in that case a D2 would be pointless.

App State Football Personnel is where I receive my information from. A lot of things will be looking different for the Mountaineers next year besides the schedule.

Re: Appalachian State Football Schedule 2013 (so far)
Who says Hawaii would not come to Boone? Their home attendance is about the same as ours. If we had them here, I have no doubt we would have 35,000 for the game.
As forLR, their fans really enjoyed the last game regardless of the score and many would like to have another. The ones I speak with want to use it as a fund raiser like last time (I think they sold tickets for $100).

Re: Appalachian State Football Schedule 2013 (so far)
T-Dog pointed out on the Rivals board that LR already has an announced schedule. So that I think throws some cold water on the rumor. Another rumor from that board said schedule would be announced Monday. I guess we will see how accurate those rumors are come Monday, one way or another.
