Re: Schedule Released
correct a mundo! They didn't play all that bad then. You could see they were on the way to becoming a much better team.AppGrad78 wrote:N.C. A&T will not be the pushover we've come to expect in the past 6-8 years. Coach Rod Broadway's team is coming out of APR purgatory and will be one of the top teams in the MEAC. If they get their quarterback situation ironed out, the Aggies will bear little resemblance to the team we whipped in Boone two seasons ago.

Re: Schedule Released
I think Broadway is a good coach as well, he has A&T moving in the right direction. They are also an in-state opponent that will be fired up to play us. Pulling an upset would do wonders for their program and Coach Broadway's career.
Having said that, we should still win comfortably. I don't doubt that they will put a better team on the field than in 2011 but I will be gravely disappointed if we don't as well. We cannot afford to look past them or anyone else on our schedule but they don't have the horses to run with us.
They are coming off a 7-4 season which shows progress but is also a bit misleading. 2 of their wins were against sub-DI competition. They did go 5-3 in the MEAC but the only non-conference DI opponent they played was Coastal Carolina, who beat them by 2 TDs.
If we prepare and show up ready to play, we will cruise. For the home opener under the lights, I expect nothing less.

Re: Schedule Released
If you look at the 2012 and 2013 schedules collectively this is the best possible schedule we can get at the level.

Re: Schedule Released
Charleston Southern only had wins over 3 FCS teams last season. 2 of their wins came versus Division two opponents. Of their 3 FCS wins against Gardner Webb, Presbyterian, and VMI, those teams combined to have a 7-26 record. Against Division 1 opponents these three teams combined for 4 D1 wins last year. That's not exactly impressive.

Agreed. Also, I'm remembering Scott Satterfield was our quarterback the year A&T beat us. Is that right?AppGrad78 wrote:N.C. A&T will not be the pushover we've come to expect in the past 6-8 years. While driving past Charleston Southern this morning I was reminded of something we have in common with them-they have a track around their football field also!

That's correct. Andy Arnold was the heir apparent that season, but he broke his collarbone the week before the game. Satterfield stepped in on short notice and it was ugly. By mid season, Satterfield hit a stride and the team was playing pretty well. Andy returned the next year but never got his starting job back.
