Ethan Joyce reporting that the board of trustees will have a meeting on Thursday. We have a coach. Now who is it?

Re: Board of trustees
I know it is. I commend DG and app athletics for being so tight lipped. Not a single credible leak though this process.

Re: Board of trustees
I assume the BOT thing is just a formality. Will there be an announcement prior to Thursday? Or at least a leak?

Re: Board of trustees
I was told not to say anything until tomorrow when I heard this morning but it is indeed a coach. The person would not tell me flat out who it was but gave a couple hints that leads me to believe it is indeed Josh Gattis. Their hint was a assistant coach from the south. Gattis fits that criteria but could also be one of ours.
I'm wondering if it is Gattis or Ivey? Only thing with Ivey is I would think that they would wait until after the bowl game to see what he does before they offer it to him?

Re: Board of trustees
That could also be Horton, possibly woody although he is a coordinator, McNeil, who has spent time in the south, don’t know where he is actually from. Ledford, if Louisville was a leak to show our hand...AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 1:23 pmI was told not to say anything until tomorrow when I heard this morning but it is indeed a coach. I really like Gattis at this point. My only hesitation is that he would leave quickly but hopefully if he does what I think we should do in 2019 and 2020 I won't be upset by it.
If someone is being vague, it could be any of the candidates that have been mentioned this far...

If it is Gattis, I hope we were adamant that he keep our defensive scheme.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 1:23 pmI was told not to say anything until tomorrow when I heard this morning but it is indeed a coach. Although, since he knows more about football in his pinky finger than i can ever know, i'm sure he took one look at our results and personnel, and came to the same conclusion himself.
I think he brings the most excitement, even with the risk/reward of hiring a 1st time coach

Well, seeing as this has been is for the past week, the latter is an improvement.

See, I was thinking it was an internal if they announced before the Bowl game, or an external who was committed to keeping a few key internals.

Re: Board of trustees
Interesting follow up tweet from Ethan. “Conditions of appointment” right above it essentially means promotion if I’m understanding legal-ese correctly. Seems like a covering of all bases, wording wise.

I was thinking at this point that it would be announced after the bowl game period.
