No way. Whoever it is is going to have a substantial buyout. Also one year with a loaded roster wouldn't entice anyone to hire him, IMO.

Finally got home from work and skipped through 4 pages of discussion about fast food. At this point I hope DG announces this will be the first team coached college football squad where it’s total anarchy and no one is actually coach. Yet we still somehow go 11-1.

YES Red Oak for beer. I also like Four Saints Potter's Clay.

I am 100% in favor of hiring the most qualified candidate no matter what they look like. I'm not playing any identity politics at all here, just making the statement that for a school/town that already has a reputation as disproportionately white this would be a GREAT thing.
Fact- As of today only 9% of FBS head coaches are African American. And of course even a smaller number of those coaches are at P5 or more prestigious jobs than App. Therefore, one could infer from that, even if Coach Gattis is uber successful with us, we might hold onto him longer than we would an equally successful white coach. Before I get jumped on, I’m not saying that is just, I’m just saying it is what it is.

It's definitely en vogue right now. Not sure how much skin color translates to ability to lead a football team but if it helps, go for it.

As entertaining as this thread has been, I really don't want to have to search for posts that are relevant to the thread itself. I get that we're just passing time now, but is it too much to ask that off-topic comments be a part of a different thread? I am happy to partake in conversations surrounding Woodlands' sauce, my favorite adult beverages, and what fast food joint can have my money, but not in the thread that is actually pretty important right now...

Sorry if I'm being a debbie downer. I just don't think we should have to search this thread for on-topic comments.
