Ah if the kid doesn't want to be at APP then they best should move on anyways. Sounds like this kid is really close to Satt. While it looks dirty and nasty, I only want the kids who want to be here.

Exactly. Has any relationship ever worked out when 1 party didn’t want to be in it? Let’s not be that desperate boyfriend or girlfriend with Scott or any recruit.

If he's taking to some of our recruits, then we are recruiting "ACC quality" recruits after all.

My money is on Nate.Gonzo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 13, 2018 7:10 amI was at the Yosef Club Spring Tour stop in Charlotte and I remember Satt speaking about a recruit that Woody flipped to GT after leaving App. He said “if [Woody] were here I would probably punch him in the face.” He didn’t seem to be joking.
I wonder if he changed his mind now.

The kid gets roughed up for a year behind a bad o-line, then rides pine for 3 years when Satt gets his pick at a “real P5” recruit

Jackson Gibbs should have all 4 years of his eligibility left right? He was redshirted at UCLA, had to sit out this season because of the transfer.

I'm sure our coach will make that pitch, if he decides to try and keep Conley.
At this point I'm hoping(irrationally) that UL makes a go at him and we keep him, just to stick it to the UL coaching staff.

Don't forget our new coach Drink developed Finley over the years. That could be a great tool to get Conley to stay with App

Well sure, but you can point out the woes UL had this past season, and who they are targeting for 2020. There is no doubt that UL will use Conley as a stop gap, maybe he turns into ZT or the Penn State QB. Or maybe he gets mashed for a year or two then put on the bench.
If he feels he'll be more successful at UL, more power to him.

Re: Evan Conley to visit Louisville
Doesn't look like Conley got much interest, if any from P5s so getting a visit from the UL coaches and invited up is probably exciting for him. I don't blame this kid at all for visiting, after all he didn't even know who our coach was going to be much less talked to him to see if he fits his offensive philosophy. If Conley likes to throw the ball it sounds like Drink would be a better fit than Satt. Satt is clearly committed to the run but wants 5 or 6 QBs on the roster because you "have to have a trigger man who can get the job done when injuries happen"...and that's a Satt quote. I don't blame Conley from getting excited about the prospect of playing for an ACC school but it is more likely that he'll be a backup.

Re: Evan Conley to visit Louisville
my comment wasn't meant to be an insult at all. He hasn't had any P5 offers, and I think UL with Satterfield has the opportunity to recruit the top athletes in the P5 conferences. It seems he is viewed as a stop gap measure for UL. I would want my son to be a starter in the later half of his college career as opposed to being a starter his freshman year then be buried 2-3 deep his next 2-3 years

Conley, I wouldn't make any commitments until you talk to our new HC. He has done well with QB's in the past and this years will end up in the NFL.... Just sayin....

Re: Evan Conley to visit Louisville
Drink has coached Ryan Finley and was a QA coach with Cam Newton during the Championship run.... Satt's worked with who... Taylor Lamb?
With Jackson from UCLA coming in, I'm way more comfortable with our QB situation.
