24 hour lock down

Unread post by Saint3333 » Sun Mar 03, 2013 10:19 pm

IF an announcement is made in the coming months I move for a 24 hour lock down period on posts.

I can only imagine the crazy things both sides of this debate will post at that time.

Who cares what is posted. That would be like locking down message boards for 24 hours after we beat Michigan. These will turn out to be some of the best posts we have ever seen.
We should all look forward to reading these posts.

They may not have to as the traffic may be so much that site crashes anyway.

no freckin way, for the last 2 years we have hashed and rehashed every consevable angle on this dam topic. I have march 9th circled on my calander, hoping that we can finally put an end to this never ending subject. Man, dont rob us the satisfaction of immediately being able to actually discuss the future of ASU athletics, Its like telling kids, on Christmas Eve, that Christmas will be delayed a couple of days.

The Chief Financial Officer where I work cancelled Christmas this past year. At least that's what she said during a meeting, something like, "due to the end of the continuing resolution we need complete coverage, sorry about Christmas". Apparently nobody was listening.

You guys know I'm pro-fcs (but definitely no pro-socon)... I'll save my wild posts for later down the road when the "I told you so" threads pop up ;)

I plan to spend the day on AGS, rubbing a citdog's nose in it. I've already preheated the over for the crow dinner.

I'm right there with you Gonzo, for the past 2 months Citdog has sat on AGS and ripped App, saying basically, no one in the FBS wants us in their conference, that we were fools to even try and move up, and that the FCS is where we are going to be for a long time. I've kept my mouth shut, becouse, unlike Citdog, I didnt want to look like an idiot making predictions that we were moving up, and then, for whatever reason it doesnt happen. Now IF we get the call, you better believe its "open season" on AGS, not only on Citdog, but also a few others who were running their mouths alittle too much. I normally dont like "smack talking" on these forms, and dont participate very often, but on this subject I might be willing to make an exception.

That's my opinion as well, but rest assured, anything short of renouncing the FBS decision and your Appalachian fanship will be interpretive as arrogant condescension. There are a lot of bleeding jealous hearts over there that are determined to demonize App/GaSo fans for embracing the progress of our school and not keeping our heads in the sand about the declining nature of the FCS.

The facts dont matter to those FCS fans. If the FCS announced the dropping of all scholarships, they'd still be proclaiming success, as long as they had a shot at winning a shiny trophy, subsidized by the NCAA and the schools that are willing to make a commitment of course.

In 20 years we may be able to see Furman playing Mount Union for the D3 trophy. Awesome.

Y'all have to realize that Citdog is just trolling you guys. He's getting the exact response he wants. I rip him quite a bit and does the same back to me...we're not serious. It's a message board, no reason to be serious.

Oh yes, you don't have to tell me. He really does think these things about Appalachian though, you have to realize. It's deeper than a pure trolling.

If you've ever talked the the guy in real life, you'll know that Citdog the character and the real individual behind the keyboard, are not far removed from one another at all.

That is very true, but he never really posted about App State like he has lately...mostly because he has posters that eat it up.

Imagine if the announcement is that the Sunbelt Conference is inviting Georgia Southern, New Mexico St, and Idaho ... :(

Can I ask a serious question and please don't construe this as me being for or against FBS.

What is going to happen on here and to most everyone here as a fan base IF the Sun Belt does not add Appalachian and ASU does not move up at least for another 2-5 years???

I will still be here, but what will the reaction be for everyone else since most are FBS or die?

I think it would destroy the fanship we enjoy. Our attendance would gradually slide to 25k and then 20k until we are exactly like the small-time SoCon schools from whom we are trying to distance ourselves. The FCS is a death sentence for everyone, especially Appalachian.

I agree, our fans want to see us moving foward, if it becomes clear that we are not moving up within the next 2 years, I thnk attendence will gradually drop to 14-16 thounsand a game. I think one of the reasons the administration is pushing so hard to move up is that they realize the negative impact staying in the SC will have on the school.
