I had a ‘92 ford ranger....my first vehicle. Loved it. To quote Bobby Hill “I drove the hell outta that truck”. Someone TBoned me and totaled it.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
My first vehicle was a '64 Ford pickup given to me by my grandpa for my 16th birthday in 1990. Was still in mint condition. He bought it new in '64 and paid for it with a bag of silver dollars...like $1600 or some ridiculous low number compared to today. Single biggest regret of my life is selling that truck in '94 to buy a 4x4 Ranger so I could get around in the snow at App. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Young and dumb!!

The people who think this is the best staff in App history are gonna be the first ones wanting them fired when things go bad.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
That is correct. But coaches are the leaders of the entire team. I have a feeling Dorsey will still play a major role in honing fundamentals to our QB corp.hapapp wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 5:11 amMy understanding is that Dorsey is coaching RBs.HighPointApp wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 6:58 pmRunning Backs?DoublySports wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 6:56 pmI think this is it!

Who served as our previous Director of Football Operations before the hire of Andy Lutz? Lots of praise for that hire in other places but very little mention here. I think I understand he is our "chief recruiting executive".

We have good reasons to be excited and optimistic this staff, but they aren’t immune from criticism if they perform poorly for an extended time just because they have great experience

So what are the salaries of each coach? Wonder how much some of the big name guys are taking versus what they made at their previous jobs.

A figurative 'come to Jesus meeting' on Sunday afternoon. I like it. Drink is our leader and the staff are his closest disciples. Now he must communicate with them what he wants to spread to his flock.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 10:27 amThe quest for 4 begins. Go Apps!

I ask this out of complete ignorance as to what’s legal or not... But could someone (say a Joe Gibbs?) donate to specifically supplement our salaries budget?... Just a thought!

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
I'm not sure how Athletic Programs work exactly, but designated funds have to be appropriated to certain buckets. I'm not sure if salary is one of those individual buckets or not. If funds come in that do not specify an already established bucket, they hit the "general" fund bucket. A donor can not just say "this money is to pay for Ken Dorsey salary" for example. It has to go to the general bucket for tax reasons. Being a state school, I don't know what "designated fund" buckets they are allowed to have.booneboy92 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 12:35 pmI ask this out of complete ignorance as to what’s legal or not... Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
There are other "budget lines" that have specific fund numbers so a donor can specify where they want their contributions applied. The S&C thread is dedicated to just that. There are certainly folks on here who will know the answer. The problem with the idea is it has to be funded annually once established. If that donation stops we can't afford the increased budget requirement.booneboy92 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 12:35 pmI ask this out of complete ignorance as to what’s legal or not... Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
Simple answer, Yes. There are some schools that have endowed coaches positions. I am not sure if one would be able to make yearly contributions.

Rumor has it that a few of the coaches like the veggies at DBI, so some are already on the hot seat as far as I'm concerned.
I think it was picked up by footballscoop.com
