2019 Football Schedule
When has the Sun Belt schedule been coming out these past years? Saw C-USA has published.
8/31 vs. ETSU
9/7 vs. Charlotte
9/21 @ UNC
11/9 @ South Carolina
? vs. Coastal
? vs. Georgia Southern (Thursday)
? vs. Texas State
? vs. ULM
? @ Georgia State
? @ LA-LA
? @ South Alabama
? @ Troy
Thought this would give us something else to speculate in the off season.

Re: 2019 Football Schedule
I think GS will be a Thursday night game in Boone, and @ Troy will be a mid-week game as well, potentially @ ULL as well.

Re: 2019 Football Schedule
We should play Georgia Southern last game every year. I know it's not a nationally known rivalry, but anyone can go on a message board to see that we hate each other the way Alabama hates Auburn, Clemson hates USC, Virginia and VT, list goes on. I feel the Sunbelt should make this happen every year.

Re: 2019 Football Schedule
I would bet that we either play Troy last game of the regular season and Geo Southern on a Thursday, or vice versa. Whoever the league thinks the two best teams in the East will be, will tangle the last week of the season.

Re: 2019 Football Schedule
I'm sure GaSo will be on a Thursday. Allows it to get better ESPN coverage. But I hope one day it's back to a Saturday. The problem is with switching it with lets say, South Alabama on a Thursday or Tuesday is that it would be less attended and watched.
GaSo makes it worth doing given the history/rivalry

Re: 2019 Football Schedule
Heads up, the 2019 schedule will have 15 weeks instead of the normal 14 (including championship game weekend).
Also, the only other Sun Belt team without a OOC game in Week 3 is ULM, so we might have three straight home games to start the season. Either than, or a bye before playing Chapel Hill.

I'm hoping for Southern on Halloween night! Shades of the 2008 Wofford game. I'd love for the score to match as well!

Re: 2019 Football Schedule
I hope not. That would kill attendance even more than a regular Thursday night game. Hard for people with young kids to make it up the mountain..GastonApp09 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 9:02 amI'm hoping for Southern on Halloween night! Shades of the 2008 Wofford game. Re: 2019 Football Schedule
Not necessarily. My daughter was 9 that year. Both her and her cousins, who where 13 and 9 came to the game. I think the stores downtown gave out candy. That was a great game.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 9:44 amI hope not. That would kill attendance even more than a regular Thursday night game. I'm sure we could find a way to have a trick-or-treat set up around the tailgate lots. lolAppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 9:44 amI hope not. Re: 2019 Football Schedule
I would expect the rematch of the Conference championship game to be on a Thursday night.
I would prefer a bye before the UNC game to help prepare. The Heels are playing Wake in a non-conference matchup the week before. Hopefully they'll be dragging a bit.
What are the chances of the two Carolina matchups to be nationally televised?

Would agree with this regarding ULL.CoachRob wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 10:10 amI would expect the rematch of the Conference championship game to be on a Thursday night.

Re: 2019 Football Schedule
The 2008 Wofford game is the fourth-highest attended game in KBS history. More than 30k in the stands. Only the Miami, Wake, and 2010 Elon (for some reason) games were better attended.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 9:44 amI hope not. Of course, that was a Friday night and not a Thursday, but if Halloween were a big conflict, why was that game such a smash? (I was there. It was awesome. Lots of costumes.)

Good question. Probably depends on a few things:CoachRob wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 10:10 amI would expect the rematch of the Conference championship game to be on a Thursday night.

- How are those teams performing? (UNC has South Carolina and Wake before us. SC is obviously near the end of the year.)
- What other games are on the schedule?
- And of course, how are WE doing?
Neither seems to have any issue with playing at whatever time TV says, so that shouldn't be a factor.
