The Mavs picked up a share of 1st place in the #Fun Belt Thurs. evening with a 20 point win over Coastal Carolina. This fellow, Andres Ibarguen, came up big with a double-double. The Apps need a huge step-up win on the road Sat. afternoon.

Both GA State and GA Southern lost last night leaving the two Texas schools atop the standings. Arlington is playing the best ball in the Belt right now. This will be a challenge today to avoid the weekend sweep.

UTA tied us to the whipping post in Boone earlier this year with a 10 point victory that was worse than the final score indicated. Going into their barn and emerging with a win won't be easy especially with the way they've been playing recently.

UTA is playing really well right now and they've had our number the last couple seasons, but if we play as well as last couple games (sans some turnovers and cold shooting late) we'll have a good shot at this.

Kind of crazy that in six games straight we play top half of conference lol.

I've really enjoyed watching this team the last few games. Yah it helps to win, but our last two games have been our best basketball all season. It's more fun to watch when it seems like we're not repeating the same mistakes twenty games in a row. Hope to see these guys keep it up!

We got beat by a better team yesterday. That hasn't always been the case this year. Disappointing weekend.

Regarding the earlier comment about avoiding shooting slumps, I realize it was an overly simplistic comment (ie. If we could score more points we could win) but against TSU we had a 4 1/2 period during which we scored zero points in a game where we had been shooting well previously. Those are the periods that are killing us. When we got behind, we did try to get it inside, but got multiple shots blocked by TSU.

Frustrating season to be sure. I hate it for the guys because I see a group of athletes who want to win out there.

Meanwhile I sit here reading an actual paper, reporting UNCG is 22-3, 11-2 in the SoCon....I know they have a good team and no football, but come on, surely we can do better than last place in the SB. In the past, we've made trips up the mountain to the our Apps play some BB, but not lately...i have met Fox and found him to be a nice guy. I had high, probably unreasonable, expectations of our program with him at the helm but this year's results are just unacceptable. At some point we have to make a change. I hate it for Fox but he needs to go.
