Re: Baseball v. GA State
Unfortunately, it looks like we have collapsed in the 2nd inning of game 3. GSU is now leading 6-0 with only one out. Not sure what is going on but it's looking ugly

That was a painful inning. GSU scored 8 runs. Pretty deep hole to climb out of but at least it's early. I'm just watching live stats so I don't know what happened with our pitching but ugly inning.

Complete and total embarrassment! Maybe there is a valid reason why we're picked to be the cellar dwellers.

Our pitching hasn't struggled like this all season. I don't know what is going on but I agree that we are getting embarrassed.

Re: Baseball v. GA State
This is clearly our best team in several years but youth and inexperience are going to produce days like this. We're improved but still have a way to go before we are on par with the rest of the Belt.

10-5, climbing back. Due to the early hole that was dug I'm not sure a total comeback is possible. However, at least some fight is starting to be exhibited.

I'd love to see them come back and take it, tall order. I agree, they haven't quit and are fighting back, positive sign for sure.

Not a football score, but:
Final 6-17 (8 innings)
No way to sugarcoat it, we got schooled top to bottom today. Hopefully something was learned.

Ugly game. The team has been looking better than this. I hate that this happened because this was a winnable series. Bad games happen. Shake it off and get things back on track.

Re: Baseball v. GA State
We're a worse fielding team this year. That needs to change.
In Saturday's win, our base running was horrible despite the win.
They don't quit, but having a bunch of freshman and first-year players against juniors and seniors won't end well most of the time.

According to the most recent RPI figures, only Little Rock has a ranking worse than ours. We are 213, they are 218.

Re: Baseball v. GA State
This early in the season one bad weekend (and a bad L to Furman a week ago) will do that to an RPI. Entering the gast series, we were hoovering around 150, which is respectable. Gast was in the 200’s. They are now 174 and we are 215, according to Warren Nolan.
I am waiting for Boyd’s World to update their site in a couple weeks when enough statistical evidence is available. To me that has always been the best indication of the landscape.
Without a doubt this was a bad series and no reason we shouldn’t have taken at least 2 of 3. This is the first big disappointment I have had this season.

McGowan, and Drumheller did not play this weekend. Dog house, sick, or what??
