We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Field House Bricks

Unread post by appstategrad2008 » Thu Mar 28, 2019 8:16 pm

So, word is the contractor working on tearing down the field house is going to be leaving some bricks out for the taking as souvenirs. Perhaps tomorrow (Friday) or Saturday. I'm in Charlotte and can't get up the mountain. Anyone in town or going to be in town who would like to go check it out? A field house brick would be a welcome addition to the man cave. If anyone can pick up an extra for me, that would be amazing! I can either PayPal for a flat rate box or meet here in the QC if you're coming this way. :D

Ok. I’ll try to swing by tomorrow and check it out. I’m coming to the QC next Thursday so if I can get one I’ll bring it down.

I inquired about having the Yosef Club's "Wall of Fame" removed intact and incorporated into the NEZ project. It was built with contributions from former athletes "who gave their all" over the decades. No dice. Apparently, it wasn't deemed important enough to save. I learned by walking around on a rainy Sunday afternoon that it was among the first things to be ripped down. No one from the university ever got back with me about it. Not the best way to get former athletes to make an impact. :?

Having something new for the former players was brought up to DG. He seemed open to an idea or two, I haven't heard if he decided on anything.

Got you a few. I would never think of charging an App fan for this! Shoot me a pm to arrange a pickup.

I saw an unnamed former App State QB sneak into the site to grab a fresh brick from the ruins last weekend.

Was not all of our bricks inserted into the walkway leading up to the West Side of KBS? I know that I’ve seen mine in the walkway.

Mine are in the walkway, also. They're duplicates but in bricks of a different color. Just wish the originals had been saved from their landfill destiny and incorporated into a wall of the new complex. If nothing else, for us to keep as a reminder of our time at App. Oh, well...

Does anyone know if the bricks in the plaza around "The Rock" have been removed? That is where mine is/was.
