I apologize for letting the team down. I had total knee replacement exactly one month ago, have been sitting in the air conditioning for the past month.
The climb to the top of the stands in search of a breeze finished what little I had left. My hats off to all fans that survived that heat. My greatest respect for our team who managed to play a heck of a game while I just tried to sit and survive. If you weren't there please do not post any negatives about the team and conditioning, you do not understand. If you were and made it to the end of the game you earned the right to be critical if you desire. My bet is you will instead tip your hat to the kids for playing a terrific game.
Amen! My hat's off to you just for making it to the top so soon after total knee replacement. We made it to 0:00 as usual but not without drinking six liters of water EACH. I have a bad hip and took quite some time to make it back to the car after baking for several hours. I'll definitely be glad for Boone next week.

Turnovers and 100 yards worth of landury lost the game for the black and gold. The heat was bad. We were seeing folks drop left and right. It was 0:00 for us, but many trips to the water fountain !!!!

I have never left a game early... rain, sleet, snow.... and while I didn't exactly leave this one early... I did have to leave the stands and wait at the concessions.. where I nearly passed out. I don't remember the walk back to the car or the ride to the hotel... and I slept until 7 this morning. I was wiped out. I am so glad I recorded the game because honestly... I didn't see a lot of it. It was ridiculous to have a game at that time on Labor Day Weekend. I honestly don't blame S&C on the loss...Special Teams... Refs... stupid mistakes... maybe...
I have heard from a very reliable source that he's tough and had them more prepared than previously.

We also never ever leave early, and I always say if those young men can be down on the field giving their all I can at least be in the stands to support them. But yesterday I just had to leave the stands before it was over. In my opinion it is abuse of these young men to ask them to play in those conditions. And having traveled the country to watch ASU, I will say I will noy ever be back in Greenville for a 12:00 Labor Day game. Won't happen. I'm two and done at ECU.

Al, hope you've recovered from those two trips...to the top of the stands and down east. :) Didn't know you'd had a knee done. My second one was done in January. At least I don't have to deal with that anytime soon.

I agree with your post. I had to watch the game on TV and muttered a comment or two after the first cramps with JJ. Then they switched to a couple of shots of almost empty fan sections and it hit me that it must be totally intolerable for dyed-in-the-wool EZU fans to head for the exits with only a one point lead. I think it's way too early to negatively judge our S & C program or our S & C coach.

I didn't leave early either, but I almost died. Hottest game I have ever been to.

I think our S&C was just fine. No problems. What beat us was ECU's #2s. They were able to sub their #2s in vs our #1s. With the extra players they have, their #2s were about as good as our #1s. That's what got us (along with a few bad calls). Our #1s were just worn out. BUT THEY DID ONE HELL OF A JOB!!!!

ECU will find out this week that South Carolina's #2s are as good as their #1s.

That game on saturday was brutal! I am in great shape, I work out 4 to 5 days a week and with just a couple trips up and down those bleachers I thought I was going to have a heart attack. My pulse was racing and I could not drink enough water. I can't imagine how the older folks survived that game. I stuck it out until the last three minutes and I had to leave. That was the hottest game I have ever been too, much hotter than 09. During half time I went down to the concession area and people were laying all over the place. Just ridiculous! I will say that the heat did seem to bother our team more than the ECU team which was a reversal from 09. I think we really gave it our all but near the end of the 3rd qtr we really had no gas left.
