Summerlin transferring was a blow. He might have been the best we’ve had in a long time.

Re: SB MGolf Tournamentsun belt
I hate to be negative about anything App. I generally just don't say much at all. But given how good the women have been this year it is not so much sad but funny the way the men have been this year in contrast. And when I say funny I am thinking funny in how a broken bone is funny.

Re: SB MGolf Tournamentsun belt
Perhaps I should have been happy with my post yesterday about only being 20 shots behind, almost 30 shots behind now.

Re: SB MGolf Tournamentsun belt
App State Golf Alum here ('13). Our golf program has been incredibly inconsistent for a very long time. Some of it's been coaching, some recruiting, some resources, and some lack of support.
The Men's team had to have open tryouts this year (from what I saw from their Twitter) to fill the team. There tons of great golf schools in North Carolina and Virginia that take recruits away. It's also tough when you cant get on a course several months out of the year. Whenever Boone Golf Club is closed for winter, Mimosa Hills (Morgnaton) and Oakwoods Country Club (Wilkesboro).
The indoor facilities are OK but definitely less than other NC universities. If given a future, it'll take some time to build this program up.

Several years back we were offered a golf course down the mountain ,but certainly within driving distance, by donation. The only conditions being maintaining and operating it as open to the public. It was an outside of the box opportunity I’ll grant you.Golf is a tough business. In any event it’s still in operation and I far as I know , paying its bills.

Re: SB MGolf Tournamentsun belt
BGC is a great course and holds a special place in my heart, but it’s a painfully short track for players who can bomb it and doesn’t provide great preparation for championship courses around 7000 yards. Not to mention the lack of an adequate range.
The cards are stacked against our men’s golf program. Without a 300 yard well maintained practice tee within 10-15 minutes of campus, I don’t see how a collegiate program can ever succeed. Golf games are built at the practice facility - and I don’t mean dialing in on your indoor Trackman.

I could definitely get on board with this. I love hockey, too, but that's a logistical nightmare. I would assume lacrosse would be far less difficult to get up and running.

Sorry, you only have 5 years to use your 4 years of eligibility from the time you first enroll.
