Great point Rick. If we get a 2-3 TD lead on a team early our D can really go for the kill. If our Offense gets a reputation for putting up a lot of points it puts a lot of pressure on opposing teams to get out of of their character thus making mistakes that both our offense and defense can take advantage of.

Let's just pray for the best case scenario: A quick strike offense that scores on a high percentage of possessions plus a shut down defense that consistently holds opponents to 3 and outs. The 2nd team will be in by half time, so continuity will never be an issue. Yeah....I could live with that.

OK....I'm not really counting on this happening but wouldn't it be great?

The coaching staff should make sure that Hennigan and Evans don't return too many punts and kickoffs for touchdowns so our defense gets a little rest.

We hired a Special Teams Coach to concentrate solely on this objective.

That is high praise. Not sure losing Stout isn't going to hurt a little bit as well.
True about Stout, but Markell Clark should be ready for that role.
One thing that has been amazing the past two seasons is that the guys stepping into starting roles due to graduation have not only maintained the level of excellence that vacated the position but often succeeded it. Fehr and Davis-Gaither as well as Thomas are great examples of this.

I think, at this point, the replenishment level for talent on App's roster is often at the same level as the previous starter. It's mostly offseason banter to pass the time, of course, but the team is in a good position to replace everyone who left last season.
Excited to see EJ Scott and Clark inside, but also really hyped to see Jordan Earle play this year. I heard he was a monster on scout team last year as a true freshman.
I hate to be the spelling Nazi because I’ve butchered a lot of names, but it’s “Jordon.” He’ll be next up on GAS’s list.
Well technically that spelling is incorrect....

Just sayin

Caleb's a beast and always seems to be around the ball when he's on the field.

We may not have an elite SBC stud like Stout but I think we may have a committee of about 3 DTs who we see a lot of production from.
