Re: WCU wbb
AD apparently didn't do his due diligence. That's on him. WCU BOT apparently did the job they're appointed to do. That's to ask tough questions before casting votes.
It's a shame for Kearney to have to endure this public embarrassment. She probably should have been more careful in recommending staff members. The bottom line, however, is that the AD didn't do his job in a competent manner. All of this could have been easily avoided.

Re: WCU wbb
With all the derision slammed at Wester Carolina University on here, why should we care who they hire or not hire?

Re: WCU wbb
1) Because she was an assistant at App previously.
2) Because WCU was a rival of ours for years, even if they're no longer a "competitor" in football, wins over them will always matter to me, and a lot of us in the over-40 crowd.
3) Because its sports.
4) Because its a public university in NC and how they conduct themselves is relevant.
5) Because its the off-season, and topics tend to get broad.

Re: WCU wbb
I'm amazed the AD announced Kearney before a contract was approved, not to mention a month beforehand and allowing her to hire an entire staff.
Looking at the WCU BOT schedule, they had their quarterly meetings on June 6/7. Why wasn't this addressed then, but now in a special meeting?
Western has removed the links to the PR announcing Kearney and Vincent's hires, but left up the hire PR for everyone else. That says something.

Sounds like they got new information prior to final approval. Regarding DV, karma’s a bitch...literally...

That's at least two posts from you where you went to the "Other schools' athletics" folder and complained about people talking about other schools' athletics. When is your next hiatus?

Good points. However many, many, many posters on here claimed that WCU hadn't been a rival for decades.Boone Goon wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 4:02 pm1) Because she was an assistant at App previously.

To me, they will always be a rival and I'm definitely in the over 40 crowd.
