After a brief hiatus due to the birth of my first Mountaineer, Triva Thursday is back. Trivia Thursday is when we ask a question about Appalachian State history and see who some of the most faithful Mountaineers are (or at least those with great memories). The only prize is pride if you know the answer and we'll be working off the honor system. Anyone can google the answer with enough time and let's be frank - no one likes the guy that ruins the fun by doing that every week. We'll post the answer to the prior week with a new question each Thursday and we'll try to keep the trivia questions related to the season.
Three weeks ago, we asked:
1) How many years have we been members of the SOCON?
2) How many winning seasons (football) have we had in the SOCON?
3) How many SOCON championships do we have?
No one got all three questions right. We joined the SOCON in 1972 and have been members of the SOCON for 41 years. Credit goes to huskie3for getting that right. We have had 32 winning seasons in the SOCON, which no one got right. Lastly we have 11 conference titles now, which again, no one got right.
This weeks trivia question is back to baseball where the diamond Apps are coming off a solid 10-2 win against North Carolina A&T. We had a great 2012 campaign, racking up 41 wins on route to a trip to the super regionals. This weeks question: Excluding last season, when was the last time we had a 40+ win season and what year was it in?
