College Football Payouts in 2019

Unread post by WASU 93 » Thu Aug 29, 2019 10:11 am

Here's an USA Today article on some quirky contracts and the list of Financial Payouts for 2019:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/n ... 145432001/

Some notes:

Gardner Webb receives $275K for tonight's visit to Charlotte
ETSU receives $250K to play in Boone on Saturday.
North Carolina and South Carolina both get paid $2M for their game at Bank of America Stadium

Charlotte makes $1M to visit Clemson in September
App. St. receives $300K to play at Chapel Hill

App. St. receives $900K to take on the Gamecocks in Columbia
Mercer receives $400K when they visit Chapel Hill in November

A couple of other notes:
It looks like Alabama is receiving $4.5M to move their home game to Atlanta for the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff.

When Louisville visits W. Kentucky the two teams split the revenue vs. a payout.

Is the reason for the low payout for us at Chapel Hell because we get them in Boone later????

App only gets $300K because it is part of a home and home series and not a "body bag" game though.

It was actually announced as a 2 for 1 (I don't know if there have been any changes), with two games in Chapel Hill. I have no idea if we get paid twice, and if they get paid when they play in Kidd-Brewer.

It's actually not a two-for-one. This year's game is a one-off and we took a lower payout in return for the future home-and-home.

We give UNC $200K for coming up here and get $900K for going down there next time.
