Well that was a game!
My expected score of a 35-14 App win was slightly off. It’s a shame this series is taking such a long break, but look forward to matching up with you guys again.
This was my first game here since the mid 90s. All I’ll say is kudos for what you have built since then. Fans we ran across were nice and we had a great time.
As far as the game goes, seems like each team had their share of mistakes. Our young coaching staff made a few questionable decisions, but it is what it is. Prior to the game I said for ya to win we had to not turn the ball over and ST had to show up. We turned the ball over and our ST were awful. Those are the breaks. Given those break downs pretty happy with final score. Looks like we both have some defensive adjustments to make going forward as well.
See ya round appys.
I’m really glad to here we treaded you guys good. I had to scold a couple of our folks for acting like jerks to some UNCC folks. For the life of me I can’t understand why fans do that kind of thing.

Roof was a bad hire ... I felt it and took time off from this board after being thrown under the bus for saying it at the time. Drink was a good hire. Roof not so much. He has killed our defense.

Post Game Quote of the Day:
"Drinkwitz said he didn’t feel a need for urgency against Charlotte"
And, it showed.
I get that the HC has to remain calm in front of the cameras, and the fact that he is an Offensive mind and not Defensive, but I hope his never feeling like the game could be lost after the blocked punt TD comment was for show. That was the first thing he has said that I disapprove of. It does show a lack of urgency regarding the D play and that, to me, is his lack of HC experience. He is the HC now. He is responsible for ALL facets of the game. Pair his statements today with his admission last week that he caught himself not paying attention to what was happening on defense, and the Rookie HC is showing itself. The good part is he recognizes it and I trust he will do his best to fix it. He may soon be regretting taking on HC, OC, and QB coaching responsibilities himself.

I tried warning you all. Everywhere Roof has been they have wanted him gone now we are in the same boat. Our D wasn’t perfect last year but this crap today was tough to watch. The 4-3 isn’t working. We can only go as high as the roof. Our O did what it needed to do. Drink I feel has kept the play calling low key so no problem there but our D is done. On a positive note ... the special teams play was great minus the kick out of bounds.

The time outs called to preserve the clock, the alignment, the sense that something great was about to happen was almost tangible! Before the snap I saw our alignment and told my friend beside me we were going to block the punt. It was like a perfectly scripted movie!

Satt would have never had that kind of clock management. It was beautiful. The D just takes away from moments like that.

We sold out of our given allotment from what I have heard. Sounds like maybe they are just selling more as needed through the App office?
I got my tickets through an App booster - so I'll be invading your side.
Worked out just fine. Sat in the shade and just below the suites. Folks were very nice and had a great view for an exciting game.
Go Niners!

I didn’t here that but that’s a bull crap statement if I ever heard one. That’s a guy trying to sound smarter than he is good right now. Truth is we came very close to losing that game. Right now I’m very disappointed in how we look on both sides of the ball.

I don’t post on other boards so to you UNCC folks, great game, your guys played hard and executed a good game plan. From what I saw yesterday you have a lot to look forward to. We won but if your asking me you outplayed us.

I disagree UNCC outplayed us, we dominated special teams and that is a huge part of the game. Both sets of WRs and RBs beat the other defenses with huge runs and great catches. Neither defense should claim a good game and have A LOT to work on.

For the most part I said that because UNCC put together some sustained drives. That’s something I look for, can your O make drives, not just splash plays. In regard to that I thought they looked better than we did.

They really just had splash plays as well and drives that were long due to stupid penalties. 150 yards of penalties, that is ridiculous.

Roof will make adjustments. Charlotte's rushing yardage came off of a couple of busted plays. Corrections will be made.

If we don’t block the punt , we lose. Shouldn’t have been close. Backside D is the worst I can remember.

Imagine how both Tennessee (lost again) and Kansas (Beaten by Coastal) feels. We won the game. We have a bye week to fix issues and get Sutton back into gear. "Trust The Visor" we said early on. Not backing down from that (plus a Diet Dew tastes good. I had one at the game yesterday)
I like what we can present to Carolina in two weeks. Still optimistic about that game.

I like the positive attitude. My guess is Sutton will not be back until his court date is settled. As a coach I don’t see how you can. We are balling without him .
