There is obvious overlap in the Student Code of Conduct and Team Rules. Drink has sited Team Rules consistently. No reason why both "governing bodies" would not have influence, if not outright say, in the matter. I can see both angles. My opinion on which would or should apply doesn't matter. I'm neither University official nor Coach.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:53 pmThe Student Code of Conduct outlines the possession of an ILLEGAL substance. Yes. He will be back unless something crazy happens (not likely). Seems like all processes have run their course.ComebackShack wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:45 pmYou have it on good authority he’ll be back this week?appstatealum wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:43 pmCorrect. He will be back. First suspension was team direction, Second came down from the University.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:33 pmIt isn’t the coach’s call. He is subject to University policy and code of conduct.ComebackShack wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:23 pmWe have to have him back for the UNC game. I feel like he served his time. Obviously, it’s coaches call, but I personally will be very disappointed if he can’t go.
Mack and Co will be lining up to stop Evans, it will be on Zacs arm to light that UNC defense up. Corey may not be as athletic as Sage Surratt, but he definitely is more polished as a receiver. Let’s get it!

He and a few other players made the trip. They were definitely scouting them outappstategrad2008 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:49 pmAccording to a friend who was at the UNC v Wake game tonight, Sutton was in attendance. Assuming he was doing a little in person scouting...

Thank you. So, if it's true that the first game was Drink's call and the second came from the university, who or what level of administration made that decision?AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:53 pmThe Student Code of Conduct outlines the possession of an ILLEGAL substance. Re: Corey Sutton
It appears App Athletics as a whole has increased its community presence at local elementary schools. This is something I am proud to see. These young men and women are role models for these kids. To bring it back to Corey, he looked to be earnestly enjoying himself in the pictures. Thatis the Corey we love to see!EastHallApp wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:47 pmHonest question: Can someone explain how "university policy" factors in here? I can’t give you a definitive answer on that. I imagine that there is some kind of review panel.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 9:15 pmThank you. Re: Corey Sutton
Assuming he does play, I am anticipating a massive, massive game from Sutton. UNC was fried by Wake Forest's big bodied receiver Sage Surratt last night and Mack explicitly said their DB's size was something they were concerned about as they were missing their biggest bodied starter. Newman and Surratt could basically connect on anything they wanted to all night long and I think the Thomas/Sutton connection is equal if not better to Newman/Surratt from a talent perspective. Not to mention the chip that will be on Sutton's shoulder due to having to miss the first two games. Since we're all into predictions, I'll give him 160/1TD with the assumption Drink does not ease him into the game plan.
Sidenote, watching my first full UNC game last night, I have no idea how they have won 2 games against decent competition. Their offensive line was absolutely terrible and Wake could have won by 40 had they not taken their foot off the gas pedal in the second half and let UNC back in.

Re: Corey Sutton
Because they probably aren't decent. UofSC imploded with Bentley as QB (they look better with Hilinski) and Miami might not win six games.

Re: Corey Sutton
We will find out how good South Carolina is today. If they lose 50-0 we know they are not. If they can keep it under 25 then perhaps they are pretty good. I agree on Miami. UNC beat SC with Bentley and Bentley is not any good. That guy has been living off his hype from high school. He will get a shot in the pros but only because of physical tools. He makes way too many mental mistakes and is not accurate.

Having your Center out doesn’t help. I think they had another OL go down as well.

I agree never suspend or not based on the opponent. Unless there are facts that show more than we think two games are more than enough of a punishment. We should see him against UNC for sure.

I believe I recall someone saying that his court date was scheduled for this Thursday, the 19th, 2 days before Chapel Hill.
