Coastal Carolina
It was pretty great beating UNC but is anyone really shocked? The team accomplished what we knew they could. Business as usual. On to the next 1-0 week.
Coastal is a potential trap game. They have their own P5 win beating Kansas and just put up 636 yards against UMass. UMass is weak this year but still, 636.
Coastal is hungry and looking to make a statement of their own. Oh, and they’re 2nd in the Sunbelt East. We lost our first conference game to Wofford back in ‘07 after beating Michigan. Let’s dial it in and prevent history from repeating itself.

Re: Coastal Carolina
I wouldn’t look past Coastal at all. They could have been easily 4-0 right now and one of the top teams in the conference.
It should be a wild, sold out game in Boone for sure.

Re: Coastal Carolina
May be wrong, but I think APP could be nearly a 3 TD favorite in Boone over Coastal. Still need to focus.
APP beat UNC because of toughness by a veteran group. They knew how to win as UNC hasn't a clue.
Nice clock management by Drink, something Satt didn't do well, imo.

Re: Coastal Carolina
They appear to be better than expected, perhaps a surprise team in the Sun Belt this year with some others struggling. Could turn out to be a key game in the division race. And of course, a key game for our overall season goals regardless.
Re: Coastal Carolina
Great win over Appalachian State-Chapel Hill!
Had a blast in Boone two years ago and think this year will be no different.
Should be a fun and exciting atmosphere.

Re: Coastal Carolina
Is your offense that much more improved this year or was it weaker opponents? 636 yards ain’t too shabby and way to represent the Sunbelt with a P5 win over Kansas!
Re: Coastal Carolina
Combination of both. I think you guys will get a couple INTs off of our starting QB. He has had 5 this year. The real difference maker is our much improved defensive scheme. Umass was the first team to get over 300 yards on us. Our D helps our offense keep the ball and we grind on the opponents D. We also go for it on 4th and short a ton and have converted 8/8 this year and it becomes demoralizing.
That being said App has such a good offense I think Coastal will struggle to stop them and you guys are solid up front so I think in the smash mouth 3rd and 4th and short situations more of those will go Apps way.
Should be fun regardless!
I am looking forward to AMB, Lost Province, and Boone saloon!

Amen. Drink was better with clock management than Satt for sure. If we had swapped Roof for Brown and not had cramp issues we could have won by 20.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 8:59 amMay be wrong, but I think APP could be nearly a 3 TD favorite in Boone over Coastal. Still need to focus.

Coastal is a better team. We should win but we definitely need a big game. I hope the team forgets the UNC win as of this afternoon. CCU has to be focus.

Re: Coastal Carolina
Agreed. A loss to CCU would completely undo what we have done. We have to be ready for these guys. I will say the same thing every week. We can and should win but we have to play well. A win is a win but we really need to beat the next 3 opponents by double digits. Whatever we did on defense against UNC I say we keep doing. CCU does not have the talent UNC has but they have enough to give us problems if we play like we did against Charlotte.AppUSMC wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 8:13 amIt was pretty great beating UNC but is anyone really shocked? Brown was not an option so stop with the false narratives. He was in the first plane to Louisville with Ponce and Satt.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 1:49 pmAmen. Don’t forget Booneshine. It’s the best brewery in Boone, IMOCoastal12 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 1:26 pmCombination of both. I think you guys will get a couple INTs off of our starting QB. Re: Coastal Carolina
I know that. I'm just saying that I know with Brown's defense we would have held them under 24 for sure. I trust his defensive philosophy as much as Clemson trusts their guy. I know he was not an option. I was fine with losing Ponce for sure. I saw a lot more of how we ran things last year on Saturday and I firmly believe the rumors about Gaspo calling the plays or at least adjusting the calls by Roof.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 1:55 pmBrown was not an option so stop with the false narratives. You MUST try Booneshine's new brewery and tasting room. Best in the west.Coastal12 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 1:26 pmCombination of both. I think you guys will get a couple INTs off of our starting QB. Re: Coastal Carolina
I really hate “trap game”. No way Drink lets this team sit on its laurels. There are 12 regular season games so there should be no problem getting the boys ready every single week
