Let me clarify, I'm speaking mostly of regional recruits from areas like NC, SC, TN. Beating an ACC school (P5) at their house will get more attention from a potential recruit than beating an ETSU at home. If we beat South Carolina too the "local recruits" will take notice. Just my opinion.

They may take notice, but doubtful that it moves the needle in getting a kid to flip from a P5 to us. I mean if a kid has a legit “take” offer from a P5, he isn’t going to turn it down to come to APP.

We will most likely never eclipse the Michigan victory. It was historical. It put us in the national spotlight. We beat UNC, it ain't the same thing. It's a signature kind of win, mostly because they would never play us and we knew we were usually better, but this game was not a "superbowl". Not to App State. Trust me.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2019 7:20 pmThis was our Superbowl this year..... And now that we won it...it's on to conference play and a chance to beat SCcocks..... Had we won every other game and lost this one, it would have just sucked.... Big.fat.monkey.nuts..... this win will get us more credit than the little FCS team sneaking one on Michigan. Trust me.mtoddsolomon wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2019 6:44 pmLet’s give us some more credit than that. Michigan was ranked number 5 and we beat them at the big house. Carolina is a mediocre acc team at best. Yes it’s nice to beat the flagship of the NC school system but saying this is one of our biggest wins is selling us short. They’re saying this is our Super Bowl and I couldn’t disagree more, our program doesn’t have he funding or recruiting they do and we were better but we have also had better bowl appearances and wins than they have in the last 4 years. Also, beating them gets us. I thing. We’re not going to be ranked, we won’t get better recruiting (still sunbelt vs acc), and it doesn’t help our conference record. Let’s celebrate the day and move on. Not a “michigan” win

Victories like yesterday tend to draw more attention our way and help our resume. In addition, I'd agree that most kids would not turn down a legit P5 offer. However, that does not apply in all cases. For example, maybe they would like to have a better opportunity to play sooner (for a "quality" G5 team) as opposed to sitting on the bench, etc.

I’m thrilled we won. Outside of our usual fan enthusiasm I was disappointed the UNC fans were so docile. There would have been no atmosphere whatsoever if it weren’t for us. It will be good to get back to Boone where there are football fans who know how to make a difference.
