Construction

Unread post by mountaineerman » Sat Aug 31, 2019 8:34 pm

I was blown away by the construction and mess around the stadium. I know it is the price of progress but man the game day feel has been obliterated .Other than Raley ..it was on fire lol.! I know it’s not done yet ..but I honestly did not know it would be eliminating the stadium lot completely. Maybe when it’s done it will be ok . Also the field house per pictures and footers already in place has got to be closer to the field. All in all I saw a college that is booming! Go Apps

My son and I were wanting to see an extra point kick go in one of the holes. Came close but didn't happen.

My wife asked me how the guy was gonna get the ball out of the footer hole if it went in. Those holes look deep enough to be hard to get out of if you have to go in.

It adds a Top Golf aspect.

We're going to have to live with Construction, but it would be nice to see Black Banners hanging on the construction fence. Maybe National Titles and Sun Belt Champions Banners. Dress it up a little.

Really hope the building/stands will be closer to the field than what is shown in this picture. Are we leaving room for a new track? :D

Yes, this. I know there’s nothing that can be done about it but it looked Mickey Mouse on television as well.

Also sort of related, but regarding the tv broadcast. What was with the shade?? It was so difficult to watch the second half and I don’t recall that ever being an issue.

Are some of you really complaining about the look of the construction site? Really? It’s a construction site.

It looked like progress, to me.

I think more so complaining about what the new construction 'appears' to look like. Eliminating stadium lot seems terrible. No game day atmosphere anymore....felt like UNC...and again why build 54 feet from the endzone? Eliminating the track is important, but just leaving grass there is kinda silly. We could all be wrong...but it just 'appears'very underwhelming at this point

There was a wind screen around Sanford Hall. Looked nice and the message on it was that every student at ASU takes a least one class in Sanford Hall. New renovations would add 40 years to the life of the building.

Exactly. Apparently the construction company was to erect a 100 foot tall fence to block the view from the entire stadium.

I don’t think anyone was complaining ... and you need to change your avatar just saying.

Wind screens my man. That is a requirement for any jobsite fence we have at HPU campus. I was appalled at the shape it was left in. But to be honest it's not fair to compare HPU to App St. campus we have a psycho standard. But a general cleaner looking sight with wind screens or App St. messaging would be nice.

DG is taking action. App State messaging wind screens being installed on construction site fencing that faces the field.

Also appears that the holes have been filled in with concrete, so no more chance for extra wager action on FG attempts.

Once the construction is done, there is a net gain of 300 parking spaces, surface at that, if I recall (someone correct me if not). Stadium lot won't be what it was, but more spaces will be around Justice as that building is moved closer to River St. Patience... we'll have a solid game day feel once it's all done. If anything, more elbow room.
