Re: Kenan Stadium
App State has a few RV slots in Greenwood Lot and in Duncan(I think) Lot this year as a trial run(learning stages). Only one space is left in Greenwood for this year. Of course, the Yosef giving levels apply to these spaces. I wish we had a remote lot(like the Friday Center) where we could boondock for the weekend and be shuttled to the games. If enough people ask about it, maybe we could get something set up for next year. I wouldn't mind a small fee for the privilege.

I was sitting behind you and saw the whole thing happen. I went to UNC security and told them that the two of you were verbally and physically assaulted by that guy. I could not believe he came after your son!
This would help our case. I admit I have been disturbed by this incident. If it had just been me he yelled at, being a grown man, I would have blown it off, but bashing a 17 year old child, then trying to choke him, crossed the line.

Re: Kenan Stadium
No Rekdiver we do not. My son was so upset that I just had to get him away from the situation. I should have stayed and taken some pictures and gotten names and phone numbers from individuals, but my main concern was for my son. I had to leave quickly. That may be the perps saving grace. I am hoping he is a Rams club season ticket holder, or purchased through UNC. Either way, there is a paper trail leading to the person who holds those seats or purchased them.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 1:14 pmASU85Grad wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 12:40 pmThank you, thank you, thank you!! Re: Kenan Stadium
We received a few "good game" (genuine sentiment I believe) from Tar Heel fans. Overall, we were just ignored which was fine with me.
If you're lucky enough to be a Mountaineer, you're lucky enough.
Re: Kenan Stadium
Just spoke to a friend of mine, a Double Deacon, meaning he has both an undergrad and a law degree from wake forest. He is a season ticket holder and went to the wake / unc game. He said on the way out of the stadium, a unc fan tried to pick a fight with him. So its not just App fans. Its the unc culture to act stupid.

You'd think with a major college football stadium there should be cameras everywhere.

Re: Kenan Stadium
My family and I were in section 229. The Rams club was not thrilled about our “football culture.” Most of them just could not believe we stand and cheer during games. There was a lot of jawing back and forth, but for the most part it was all civil and we did receive some congratulations after the game.
The tailgating experience was a good one. I was surprised how long it took for Bowles lot to fill up. We basically had the entire side of the lot for App fans, which worked out great.

I used do this as a student. Sadly, we are like everyone else, we have a few too. Fortunately I didn't have to do it too much. There was one A&T game though....Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 8:05 pmI am going to encourage everyone reading this post to take ownership of how we treat our guest when they come to Boone. Everyone needs to take ownership and correct it when they see it. We have a pretty good reputation. I'd hate to see it ruined by a few bad eggs.

Re: Kenan Stadium
I was in 210 on row O seat 19 or 20 actually. After every score I high-fived the App fans behind me and then the younger fan in front of me. I do have one thing I have to get off my chest.
To the App Fan in Row P seat 18, 19, or 20 maybe.
After the game was over the male fan behind me and I embraced in a hug that, in hindsight, may have lasted a bit longer than would be accepted in polite society. I am not sure if I initiated the hug or he did. I think after the first hug a small amount of time passed and I may have said I need another hug. To be honest I can't remember. Anyway I am OK with how it went down, but if you felt a bit uncomfortable then this is my official apology. I think we were both caught up in the moment and realized a high-five just was not going to cut it. After that we went our separate ways and I had a chance to talk with the Sunergy App State team before we all exited the stands.
I feel better now that I got that off my chest.

Any fan visiting deserves some courtesy. I make it an effort to find at least one out of state fan for those type games and thank them for visiting Boone and North Carolina and as a public school teacher and spouse of a public school teacher I sincerely appreciate them spending some money and generating tax revenue in the state. I even say that to GaSo fans.Apptiger wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 5:49 pmI used do this as a student. Sadly, we are like everyone else, we have a few too. Fortunately I didn't have to do it too much. Re: Kenan Stadium
Funny, there is a thread over on IC talking about our fans. I had no issues the whole weekend, but was with a mix of App/UNC people and in the App allotment of seats. Did get to sit in the Loge seating for a qtr and half, not one person said a word. Think all fan bases have some jerks and we are not immune based on things that i have seen in Boone. That said, any time someone lays hands, its way past anything acceptable and should be handled. Funny, things like that dont happen in front of security!

Re: Kenan Stadium
Really??? I felt like the atmosphere was electric. Definitely had a "big game" feel. After the opening return and the one play from scrimmage that resulted in first TD the place was going nuts. Very entertaining game, lots of emotions and big plays from both teams. But we were up the entire game after D.Ts sack, strip, scoop and score. I think holes fans are still trying to feel their way through this season, they were a beaten down fan base last year. I think they realized they were in trouble early and thus were subdued...lot of nervous energy.Gonzo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 6:23 amEvery UNC fan I interacted with was fine except the lady behind me that I mentioned in another thread, and that was only one short exchange.
I feel like I’m taking a cheap shot, but I’m just being honest: Carolina game day was pathetic. They didn’t know how to behave in a football game. No noise, no atmosphere (besides why we brought). They have a LONG way to go.

Re: Kenan Stadium
We were in 210 and all of the Carolina fans around us sat down for most of the game. (We did have a big contingent of App St. fans behind us who brought plenty of energy). We did have the Carolina students on that end of the Stadium and they were into the game and stayed involved throughout. I think that made for a good “stadium atmosphere” on that end.APP93 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 9:02 pmReally??? I felt like the atmosphere was electric. Definitely had a "big game" feel. I’ll be really interested to see how the Carolina fans travel for a game against little ol’ App. State in Boone.
