The UL OL will likely be the best we face this year. That group has been the prime reason for their success thus far.
They are a big reason why their RBs do so well. They do have the best OL unit in the league but I think we will have some success against them. If their OL dominates us then this game will be a shootout for sure.

I'm sure they're good, and I know they're big. That said, our guys may not be 315 across the board, but when Vic's healthy I'm not conceding any Sun Belt O-line is better than App's.

Does anyone know if we should get the majority of our injured guys back for the Louisiana game?

Franklin is the only injury that I can think of but for some reason I thought there was more.

Scott and Johnson have been in and out of the lineup with injuries. I believe Ryan Huff has been banged up a couple times as well. Obviously Willie Edwards hasn't played this year, but I don't know of any reason to expect him back yet.

I'm not sure if Drink mentioned it last night during Mountaineer talk but I wonder what the likelihood is that those guys are recovered in time for the UL game due to the pseudo-bye week. I have no idea what their injuries entail though.

I don't know guys but I feel like we're going to see our full play book finally, and combined with the semi-bye week with additional time to heal, I really like our chances.
Just took a quick spin (and I mean quick, not an in-depth analysis) through our respective win-loss resumes and ours is stronger.
They definitely have some play-makers but we've got a truckload. Barring any key injuries popping up I think we're gonna have a high scoring game but win by like 2 TDs, like 58ish to 44ish. Weird things can happen like the Ga Southern game last year but we're the better team.

Also, and I know that they are not looking past us, but if I'm Napier I'm going to have an eye on the next week's key inter-divisional game at Ark State which is the Thursday night of the following week. Beating Ark State would obviously give them the tie breaker in the SBC West and you can't play for the championship if you don't win your division first. So, yeah the fans want to beat us badly, but if I'm Napier, I want to beat Ark State worse than I'd want to beat App State. Except for the UGA spanking, Ark State is having a good season with a close loss to a good really good SMU team.
All's I'm sayin' is that it's gonna be a shootout and I think we win shootouts.

They've got some fans calling 10+ point wins. I know they're better, but damn they've gotten cocky for a team that got whooped by us twice last year.

We haven't even scratched the surface in seeing Sutton featured in this new look offense. Add in some double move/go route capabilites of Virgil, my guess is Drink is waiting for the right time to shift into that 6th gear. There is so many times we had single man coverage on Corey last week and opted for a run or screen. That was by design, I'm fairly confident that any "go get it" ball thrown his way will be caught regardless of the defender.

They should be aiming to keep the game within 10 points. They have improved from last year, but our offense is not what they are remembering and last time our defense was challenged in a big game, Roof had them ready. I'm starting to talk myself into a double digit win.

I'm obsessing on it now; if I'm Napier, if I beat App I still have to go on the road and beat a strong, well-rested, plenty of time to get prepared Ark State team (Ark State has a bye weekend before their Thursday night game) because of the head-to-head tie breaker. Beating us and losing to Ark State most likely means UL loses the SBC West. The game for the SBC West is going to be the following Thursday at Ark State so I wonder if he'll hold back just enough...

I agree. When you look at who they've run their stats up on, they're not good. Also, there's not a single metric that thinks they're better, other than fpi (which I still dont understand). I'm thinking we win by 2 td

Doubt it. We have had. a target on our back since we joined and it has gotten bigger every year. We are going to get their best shot

If anyone thinks UL is not looking at this as a big time game they are crazy. They are going to focus everything on winning this game not the next week. App is the top dog in the SBC and they have yet to beat us since we moved in and took over the town. They want us in the worst way. They said it last year and couldn't quite get it done in two games. This will be a dog fight that we have to bring our A game. They are very solid with Napier. I believe we will win this game if we play to our potential but we have to bring it and I think we will.

So, you're suggesting that to Napier, beating us is better than winning the Sun Belt Championship?

Really think you're thinking too hard about this. They've had a week and a half to get ready for this just like we have. They'll have an extra day for stAte. I'm sure they want to beat us, both to show that they can and to get home field in case of a rematch.

This ain't the SEC West - there aren't THAT many tough teams you have to get up for. They'll give us everything they've got and I expect we'll do the same.

The target on our back has been huge for years, and probably never bigger than the SBC championship game last season, and they haven't beat us yet. Maybe they are due for it, but we should be used to being everyone's biggest game of the year by now. This is our biggest game of the year too, because its the next on the schedule. I'd say we are going to give UL the biggest shot they have had so far, too.
