The sharp money didn't come in on Monday. It's starting to come in now on the Over. (check the move). Public will drive the action on the line throughout. There won't be too many sharp dollars on this game.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 9:35 amThe first move was the sharp money yesterday which moved it to ULL -1, which is troubling. The subsequent move to ULL -3 is public money, not as troubling.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 9:20 amVegas Insider opened with APP -2.ASU_Victory_Lap wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 6:53 amOpening is ULL -1. 5 point move in one day on public opinion. It's like we have players sitting out in key positions for that type of move.
This likely means the computers are saying the game is a push, which I believe it will be as it will come down to turnovers and 1-2 plays.

Normally I don't care about the spread because you still have to play the game, however, there is one thing interesting about following the spread. When it shifts 1 or more points one way or the other. Either Vegas knows something or folks are betting heavy on one side. I would imagine that a lot of people are betting ULL. They are at home and the media and computer rankings seem to think they should win. This is why I love playing the games and prefer we are the underdog. I hope all the media and the rankings say we should lose every week. Nothing better than proving the outside world wrong as a player.

The initial movement in a line is from the public and the public generally drives it the wrong way. Wise guy money comes in after the number is inflated and adds value.

Vegas Initially APP -2. +(-3ish) if playing on a neutral field would make APP -5. And +(-3ish) at The Rock would make APP -8.
And the public has APP an underdog.

App should have 80% of the motivational ammo in this game...unranked, under valued, and underdogs.
All UL has is they've never beaten us.
Side note: the BGP guys talked about this on their new podcast and I've read a couple people talk about it here, in that 'why would ESPN analysts use the crappy ESPN FPI to predict outcomes?" Because it's their in-house system. ESPN writers are going to say "so and so is going to win based on our proprietary predictor". They aren't going to reference any of the outside metrics.
This is how corporations work.

I don't understand this line of thinking. ULL has never beaten us, hasn't been relevant in a very long time, and still rebuilding. Not too mention, Napier's past here. Re: Officially Underdogs to ULL
If you owned a media outlet that is how you would do it also. Look at it this way. If you decided to rank teams or use certain analytics to predict things why would you reference outside sources instead of your own? It is a way for ESPN to self promote. Their predictor system is right more than it is wrong, not by much but it is.WoollyWormVet wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2019 3:48 pmI don't understand this line of thinking. I don't understand why ESPN expects ULL to win but if they do win then ESPN will be able to pound their chest since most disagree with them.

Greetings Yo Yo bunch
ManAboutTown here. (Yes, that guy). It was pretty tough and time consuming to get into your little circle jerk here, but certainly time well spent. If you’re moderators aren’t cowards, they’ll allow me to stay (I’ll behave, give you my word) and ‘chop it up’ with you folks. But judging by the dictatorship you guys run over here, it will last long. I get it: Safe Spaces are all the rage. No further judgement from Ole MAT here.
Here’s the deal: The cold, hard slap of reality is coming for your football team tomorrow night. It will be a shellacking of epic proportions, and I for one CAN NOT wait to see the look on your long banana faces when the clock hits triple zeros. You have an odd bunch up there in Boone. Most fans I met were reasonable and respectful (thanks for that btw) when I visited, but the Keyboard Cowboys on this board are insufferable. So anyway, for those traveling, be safe and avoid I10 at all costs. For those watching at home, make sure you have a loved one near. You’ll need that shoulder to cry on. With that said…

The only "cold, hard slaps" happening tomorrow night are going to be ULL fans crushing their discounted beer cans. Hopefully you'll be in attendance (one of the maybe 10k, I mean that's what the discounted booze and cheap tickets are begging for right?) to see your boys go 0-7 against App.

Ya see, we don't censor people in Cajunland. We're still Americans. And your fans have done the same. So, to answer your question, about as desperate as you folks.

It is hilarious to me that your fan base seems to think that Taylor Lamb was better than Zac. I can get a fan thinking that his team will win but the insistence that our QB sucks is pretty weird. Can't wait to see him light y'all up tomorrow, win or loseWoollyWormVet wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2019 4:04 pmGreetings Yo Yo bunch

And I can't believe your fanbase thinks ZT is any good. Truly baffles me. He's good for App St's offense, sure. But do you really think this kid is Danny Wuerrfel in the pocket? I respect his ability to run and operate your offense, but beyond that, he's a 50/50 ball thrower. Foot work is average, at best. He won't "light up" anyone as a passer.sfoal308 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2019 5:09 pmIt is hilarious to me that your fan base seems to think that Taylor Lamb was better than Zac. S&P+ has been incredibly good this year, and it rates our offense as the 11th best in all of FBS. Better than Clemson and by far the best in the G5. Obviously Zac is a huge part of that.WoollyWormVet wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2019 5:12 pmAnd I can't believe your fanbase thinks ZT is any good. Truly baffles me. He's good for App St's offense, sure. ESPN's PlayStation player rankings gave Zac a 97 out of 100 before the season. Here is the complete list of QB's from last year who scored a 97 or higher:
Kyler Murray
Tua
Trevor Lawrence
That's the entire list.
I've watched every snap of his college career and can tell you without any doubt that he is by far the best QB in the Sun Belt and by far the best QB in school history. There's a reason that you don't get paid for your film analysis

Back to the game, 70% of passes means nothing when you toss jet sweeps in the air 2 ft. I've seen App St play plenty this year. I'm not going to sit here and say they are bums, but my goodness, you people need to watch the games. Zero worry about playing this team. ZERO.
