I can see it now.... #15 App State (8-0) vs. #19 South Carolina (6-3). College Gameday in the house. How amazing would that be?

Well I guess that big question about Wisconsin being in the playoff talk is answered.

No but that team is going to be a handful when we play them. That stadium was rowdy today.ah59396 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 3:10 pmThanks for nothing USC!!!dtrain4prez wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 1:09 pmI can see it now.... #15 App State (8-0) vs. #19 South Carolina (6-3). Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
I would like for SC to be ranked just because the win would look better but we know they won't be. They should beat Vandy and Tennessee. Our game for them will be huge because it could be the deciding game on their bowl eligibility now.
We just need to handle our business. I don't know if you guys ever looked but more than half of the what if games we play never happen.

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
If they were going to be 6-3 they would be ranked higher than 19 and we will not be ranked in the top 15 come that game. Highest we will be is 19-21 range unless we see a lot of teams in the 15-23 range now go down this week and next week. We would also need to look good because remember when a ranked team goes down look at who beat them. If that team is receiving votes then they will bypass a lot of teams with weaker opponents that week.dtrain4prez wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 1:09 pmI can see it now.... #15 App State (8-0) vs. #19 South Carolina (6-3). Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
Yes, they did. I don't believe PJ Fleck was a first year coach though. Regardless, unless we go 13-0 and finish ranked I don't see him going after this year. A smart AD would wait to see how Drink recruits and the type of players he brings in. He is still going to be winning with Satt's recruits for 2020 and still mostly Satt's in 2021 and a decent amount come 2022. To get a shot so quick with another man's recruits I would think he needs to have 2 really huge (NY6 Bowl) seasons.NO.2 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 6:23 pmAppStFan1 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 12:52 pmMy hope is that we can do what they did that year but sustain a high level for longer. They had a ton of talent on that team. I believe this team could be better than that WMU team but we have a long way to go in the season.ah59396 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 11:29 amInteresting note:
In 2016 on Sunday October 9th, Western Michigan at 6-0 moved into the Top 25 at #24.
How did they respond to their new ranking?
They blasted Akron 41-0. Moved up to #20 the following week.
By the time they were 8-0 moving into November, they were ranked #17 and played their next 6 straight games (including the Cotton bowl) on some version of ESPN.
We have quite the opportunity in front of us. I hope the team seizes this.
They lost Fleck to Minnesota immediately after that 2016 season.

Pulling for #13 Utah against #17 Arizona State. Right now Utah is up 14 before half.

I wonder how far Wisconsin will fall. I know Illinois is a B1G bottom dweller but I'd assume they'd probably fall just into the teens right?

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
We laid an absolute beating on ULM. A Missouri loss + Michigan loss (unless it’s really close) + an Arizona State loss has me thinking our ceiling for this week is #20 and our floor is #23.

I believe Memphis and Indiana move nto the top 25. We go to 23, they go to 24 and 25. We may go to 22. UVA may break back in.

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
My guess at AP poll. Boise State, Alabama, USC, and Hawaii are still in progress but gives us an idea. I feel safe to say 22. Either Virginia or Memphis moves in at 25. Both had good wins. Indiana gets close but did not have any votes before so I am sure they just get a lot of votes and end up 28-33 range.
Arizona State and Missouri losing helps us in poll position. Washington, Tulane, and Temple losing don't effect our poll position but we will gain a lot more votes with this. I bet we surpass 200 votes and are in almost every ballot. Can't be more than 5-10 holdouts, if any, after this week.
