Evans isn't really undersized anymore. You saw what can happen when he wants to run with power rather than finesse in the game against Louisiana on that final drive. Not to say that the NFL and Louisiana is comparable but if Matt Breida can have an impact in a Shanahan style offense, I feel Evans could as well.NavyApp wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:31 amDuck and Evans are not comparable draft prospects. Yes they are both undersized for their respective positions, but Evans makes up for his lack of height with ELITE speed, acceleration, and vision. He is a game breaking talent that will get looks. I hope he stays an extra year but if he left I would not be surprised.

Re: Delicate Subject: Does anyone leave early afther this Season
I completely agree, but that is the only thing that Duck and Evans share in common as a prospect. Evans has the toolkit to be a very good player in today's NFL. His speed and abilities as a return man will get him in the door and once he is there I have no doubt that he show all that he can do.ericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 10:16 amEvans isn't really undersized anymore. according to the rosters CMC is 5'11" and 205 lbs. Evans is 5'11" and 200 lbs. Unless one or both is way off Evans ain't undersized.ericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 10:16 amEvans isn't really undersized anymore. Re: Delicate Subject: Does anyone leave early afther this Season
Don't think anyone is freaking out. It's a valid point that we should know the correct spelling of our star players' names, isn't it? We had people (not many thankfully) still talking about "Armani Edwards during his senior year....just doesn't seem right. Their names are in the papers all the time and we have a roster at our finger tips. I don't think we're talking about the occasional slip or typo here.ASU2012 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 9:15 amIt's more weird to freak out about it on an internet message board.proasu89 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:58 amIt’s weird to spell someone’s name correctly?ASU2012 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:41 amWhat a weird thing to get your panties twisted over. So, we can spell our players' names any which way, but God help anyone who mis-pronounces "Appalachian." Right?AppAlum1 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 11:06 amYou must have missed the English class that reviewed Mark Twain's comments on this point: It's a dull mind that can't spell a word but one way.AppySprayberry wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:27 amCan we all try to show our players the basic respect of learning how to spell their names correctly before posting about them? Re: Delicate Subject: Does anyone leave early afther this Season
It was mentioned early in the season that Evans put on weight over the off season. It continues to amaze me that this young man has done all he has and folks still doubt his ability. What else do some of you folks need to see from this young man before you believe? Game after game play after play he gets it done!!!!ASU-FTW wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 11:04 amJust going by the eye test, CMC looks way bigger. Re: Delicate Subject: Does anyone leave early afther this Season
I see Evans carving himself out a role similar to James White for NE. A little bit of a multilayered player who can contribute in the passing game, running game, and return game. He is on the small size, but has speed and hands to be valuable. I wouldn’t compare him to another 3 down back in the NFL, I just don’t think he is built for that type of workhorse role. McCaffrey is a once in a lifetime type of talent and it’s not fair to put Evans next to him.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:53 amEvans isn't an NFL running back. He isn't a receiver unless someone wants to take time to develop him or find a place for his speed.
Our best pro prospect is Gaither-Davis, but he is a senior.
Akeem will definitely get some long looks from NFL teams, and I think he has some staying power for the NFL. Speed and smarts will help him find a role with a team. Sutton is graduating this year as well, I doubt he would opt out of playing one more year, but he has a lot of the tangibles and intangibles to go to the NFL soon. Henni has been seeing most of the targets, but I love when Corey gets the ball and always has the ability to break a few tackles and gain extra yards. His play consistently stands out to me, even in limited action.
