Re: SB Championship game
GA State is no joke when they play up to their abilities. They are streaky and could be quite dangerous for us, especially at home.
They were 2-10 last year, and are 5-2 this year with two surprising scalps on the wall (Tennessee and Army).
I like Shawn Elliott and always pull for him due to his App State history as a player and coach, except against App State of course.
I believe it will only be a matter of time before he has Ga. State being a true SBC championship contender.

Re: SB Championship game
I agree, I'm glad to see Elliott turning things around but not going to like it if he spoils our special season we've got going on. I feel like of the games we've got left USC and Ga State are the toughest with Troy being a close 3rd.
Not discounting Ga Southern but I think our guys will smack them down just as payback for last year, so not too worried about them...plus they actually suck.

Zac Thomas could go down next week, we could then lose 3 games, and have to watch the game on TV. Injuries could destroy the team and they have already depleted our backfield some. Football will humble you. Don't count the chickens until hatched means you may have more or less than you expect so until it happens you don't know.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 2:18 pmIs that what you are doing?Black Saturday wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 2:12 pmI'm sure you've heard the old saying, "Counting our chickens before they hatch"
We don't need anymore backfield injuries, or we may be watching it on TV.Many times they do hatch, regardless if you count them or not.
We have a South Alabama team that can play tough. They want to come in and make a statement. Let's hope we don't have anymore major injuries or else we may find out what crow tastes like.

Re: SB Championship game
I sincerely hope Zac stays healthy, but I also believe we could win with our backups. I know that opinion isn't widely shared and it depends on the timing. Going down on the first possession of a game forced an entire game with an in-planned backup. That was compounded by penalties, followed by turn-overs. It was an all around fiasco of a game that I don't see happening again. Huesman actually didn't look that bad when he finally got into the game and I think he's probably made progress. I would also wager that, if needed we would get to see our stud freshman.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 10:41 amZac Thomas could go down next week, we could then lose 3 games, and have to watch the game on TV. I would really rather not find out, so let's all knock on wood...or throw salt over our shoulders..or do whatever has to be done to avoid any jinx that might have been created here.

Didn't the chicken come before the egg? You had to at least count that first chicken.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 12:22 pmNope. The first chicken was the offspring of a dinosaur species that had slowly over millions of years and 1,000s and 1,000s of generations evolved into what we now call a chicken. I imagine the parent dinosaur laid an egg so the egg came first and then hatched a chicken, or at least a species that itself evolved into the chicken.
TL;DR The egg came first and what laid the chicken egg was not a chicken.

Re: SB Championship game
There was some organism that we would not consider a dinosaur most likely laid an egg that hatched and became our first dinosaur. So again I would think the egg came first.GreatAppSt wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:18 amSo that begs the question what came first the Dinosaur or the egg?McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 6:45 pm

Going back in time some organism most likely mutated and had an egg that normally did not produce eggs and it somehow hatched and survived to have offspring and passed along this trait. Maybe before this some organisms were producing internal eggs. This is a good bit outside my field so I am just speculating.

Re: SB Championship game
Georgia State will probably be a tough out regardless. I'd imagine that much like Louisiana, Georgia State has a special place in their heart for the effort they will put forth in the App game thanks to their relative lack of success. Throw a number next to App's name and they shouldn't need anymore motivation.Rick83 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 9:37 amNever thought i'd say this but I'm a little worried about the GA State game. If Troy knocks them off this weekend then I'll go back to just worrying about Troy...but if GA state beats them they could be tough when we go down to Atlanta.
Don't understand why they lost to TX State (3OTs), and Furman gave them a scare, but they're looking much improved.
