Re: Could Our Ranking Weather A Loss?
I don't know but last year we got ranked with a "good" P5 loss and no P5 wins. This year we have a P5 win already and if USC continues to win and we lose a close game to them we could still end up ranked at some point if we only have the one loss to USC, perhaps by the end of the season.
If we drop a Sun Belt game then we'll drop out for sure but could possibly climb back in if we win out. Last year we lost to Ga Southern and Penn State and finished the last AP poll at 26th, so nearly back in, and would have been back in if Va Tech had beaten Cincy. But Cincy took our spot.
hopefully we'll win out and just keep climbing in the polls!! Just win baby!!

May I repeat from above.....Hell No!!!
With our strength of schedule, and any loss, we drop like the proverbial rock!!
Hey, our future is in our hands. Let's just refuse to lose!

Exactly. Only way we could keep it is a close loss in overtime to SC or loss in the Cotton Bowl. We lose to anyone in the SBC and we are out with no shot at getting back in this year.CharleyHustle wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 8:39 pmMay I repeat from above.....Hell No!!!

Just go 1-0. Not sure why we worry about what a loss could do. If we just win we don't have to worry about it.

That wasn't the point at all. It was supposed to be a fun analysis of how high we could climb vs the result of what could happen if we stumbled. It wasn't supposed to be doom and gloom but some people read what they wanted to read and took it the wrong way.

Is this seriously a question? The only one that we could even conceivably drop to stay in is South Carolina, and even then likely not. SBC is horribly weak.

Outside of Louisiana, nobody in the SBC is good enough to even think we deserve to be ranked with just a close win. We truly need to win by 24 or more for me to feel like we are indeed a top 25 caliber team.
