My only major complaint with this staff so far is we get fixated on establishing the run.
We were getting no movement on the line Thursday and Drink was still content to waste downs getting 1 yard on a run. You gotta take what they are giving you sometimes even if that means sacrificing balance.

Re: Forcing the run game
I don't understand why we always seem to try to establish the run between the tackles. It wasn't working against Ga Southern but we kept at it. I don't know why we don't call run plays to get Evans on the edges. We have an option play, we used it earlier this year, but we never seem to call it. Zac is a good mobile qb that can make an appropriate read and if they collapse on him Evans is off to the races and if not Zac cuts it up and gets a big gain. I would think the threat of an outside run game would loosen up the 8 man box a bit and maybe even allow for an easier time running between the tackles. Obviously I am not a coach and they know way more than I do, but I just don't get why we don't try to get our fastest guys to the edge.

Pretty sure the "play calling" thing has been talked about in excruciating detail in multiple other Threads "This Ones On The Coaches" and the Game Day thread for sure....among others.
