Great ideas. You should email Doug. They could rig the flags to the cranes prior to leaving on Friday.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 8:58 amWould love to see a an App State flag on top of the crane and big “JOIN YOSEF CLUB” banner hanging down from the cable for Homecoming game.

Are they going to have a net up for XPs/field goals? It was plenty of fun to watch folks chase the balls through the construction site back when it was flat dirt with a few holes. It'll be a little tougher with steel beams and construction.

I'd pay pretty good money to see someone get blindsided by a girder (and not get hurt).appchicago wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 9:14 amAre they going to have a net up for XPs/field goals? "Athletics is a financial black hole. Athletics loses $25 million every year!! This is paid for by students fees and taxpayers. They build unnecessary athletic facilities because they can pass the bill to students and taxpayers. Sadly, Appalachian prioritizes athletics over academics. Just look at what they spend money on. The university spends more than TWICE as much covering the losses of athletics than it spends on the library and student services! Academic centers and institutes are told to be financially self sufficient, but athletics can lose $25 million every year....and the deficit increases every single year! How does the state allow a university to have such backward priorities?"

Re: Appstate Endzone Camera
Why in the world did the Watauga Democrat use a no longer valid rendering of the endzone complex front-and-center on the front page of today's print edition? That's just plain embarrassing, especially considering the current version has been around for pretty much most (if not all) of 2019. What makes it even more amusing is that the online article places both that rendering, and the most current incarnation, in the attached images back-to-back. Guess no one took a gander at what they were printing before they went to print.

Want to talk about priorities scott davidson? Go ask the State legislature how much they pay teachers and professors........Ask UNC how much they spent defending the academic fraud....etceteraTheMoody1 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 10:53 amThe one comment after the article.

Re: Appstate Endzone Camera
Not only that Scott but go ask the "powers that be" why Appalachian State University gets shafted with apportionments from the State every single year???Rekdiver wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 12:06 pmWant to talk about priorities scott davidson? Re: Appstate Endzone Camera
With all of the publicity the football team and Appalachian have received this year, I would be interesting to think of athletics as a marketing expenditure and boil it down to a cost per mille figure.

I'd love to see an economic analysis of dollars generated by the exposure this year. There are analytics that say Dabo Swinney @ $9 million and Nick Saban @ $8.7 million are underpaid based on the value their program brings to their communities.

Re: Appstate Endzone Camera
Hmmm. I've been in Boone since 82'. The stadium has certainly gotten larger since then but I'm not sure that it has done anything to impair any view of any sort.... it is actually a much better looking place than it was thirty something years ago. Other than losing a parking lot (Stadium Lot) the footprint of the stadium is right where its it's always been, tucked back in against a small north face hill and very unimpending.
Pretty unique spot really.

Re: Appstate Endzone Camera
Was it ever mentioned as to why the NEZ building is so far back from the field? I know once they add the club seats that will move things a little closer, but still feel like they'll have a lot of space.

Re: Appstate Endzone Camera
I thought it was a little further back than it should be but after looking at the renderings further and comparing it to other stadiums with end zone facilities, i think it will actually be closer than most of the comparisons ie ECU than I’ve seen.
