Re: Satterfield- ACC Coach of the Year
Just saw the announcement. Very well deserved honor and I'm happy for his success. Once a Mountaineer, always a Mountaineer (unless you damage the brand, then you might as well be a catamount).

Re: Satterfield- ACC Coach of the Year
Maybe Satt couldn't vote for himself, so he voted for Mack instead? Or if this is a media award, then question easily answered.moonshine wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 10:57 amCongrats to Satt!!!

Re: Satterfield- ACC Coach of the Year
Although I despise UNC, they were much improved this year from last year and Mack should at least get some consideration. Now Louisville was terrible last year and the improvement was even better than at UNC, so think it was an easy choice.

Although he is no longer a Mountaineer but instead a Cardinal...congrats to Louisville's Coach Satterfield. Nuff said.

Re: Satterfield- ACC Coach of the Year
As for Mack - just think about this - the team didn't do thousands of dollars of damage to a locker room - they didn't start a riot at the end of the NC State game - they still didn't go to class but Hey, 2 out 3 -

He's a Cardinal, no matter how much we wish otherwise. He chose there. He coaches there. He is paid there. He lives there. Nuff said.

Re: Satterfield- ACC Coach of the Year
I always pull for Mountaineers when they leave the mountain...unless they're opposing us on a field or court...way to go Satt!
There are few people who have contributed as much as Satt has in building our football program that we're so damn proud of. I am thankful to him for that and only wish him the best.

Re: Satterfield- ACC Coach of the Year
He’s a Mountaineer. He is a Mountaineer in the same way other Appalachian alumni are Mountaineers, though they hold high administrative positions at other colleges. Or keeping it on the court/field, the same way Matt McMahon is a Mountaineer.NewApp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 4:10 pmBeauFoster wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 10:55 amJust saw the announcement. Re: Satterfield- ACC Coach of the Year
Congrats to Coach Satterfield on an excellent turnaround season for Louisville!!! Though Bronco would get the honor since UVa is playing for a Championship. Scott will always be a MOUNTAINEER!!! He gave his all for this University as a student, a player, an Asst Coach and as a Head Coach!!! If anyone begrudges him leaving for the Louisville job, then they are acting petty and selfish...GROW UP!

Re: Satterfield- ACC Coach of the Year
Let me get this right - So you don't consider Coach Satterfield a true Mountaineer even though he spent the majority of his life ( almost all of his adult life) GIVING HIS ALL FOR APPALACHIAN STATE because now he is being paid millions to coach at another university???NewApp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 4:10 pmBeauFoster wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 10:55 amJust saw the announcement. He just wants to be called out and pout and post about how he is mistreated around here. It's like the Geico commercials, it's what you do.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 9:20 amLet me get this right - So you don't consider Coach Satterfield a true Mountaineer even though he spent the majority of his life ( almost all of his adult life) GIVING HIS ALL FOR APPALACHIAN STATE because now he is being paid millions to coach at another university???NewApp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 4:10 pmBeauFoster wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 10:55 amJust saw the announcement. Re: Satterfield- ACC Coach of the Year
I remember Satt's playing days and am grateful for all he has done for our program as a player and a coach. If he takes Louisville to the CFP in the future I'll be happy for him. If he goes 1-11 next year and gets run out of town I'll feel bad for him. I don't pull for or against him as coach of another school. Satt is still a Mountaineer but he is now first and foremost a Cardinal, his allegiance to APP is secondary.
