Re: Doug Gillin?
Yeah but we're in a different situation than what we were with Lainey. We're in the FBS, we've got a massive campus-wide expansion project going on. We're a national brand.
Like with our coaching vacancies, we should be an attractive destination for people and so we should get quality applicants in the event the AD leaves.

In talking with my guy at Cincinnati, his words are "things are heating up" with Gillin. Not a done deal yet but the back and forth dialogue has picked up, which makes sense as to why the media is picking up on it.

Yes. DGs name has been on a few desks this year. Reality is, funding is a hurdle here. There is a reason I, along with others, have been pushing the Yosef Club heavy this year. We have a lot of projects going on, and that costs a lot of money, and there is bound to be shortfalls. I love DG and would hate to see him go, but when he leaves, it should be a wake up call for us to show our support for the program.

Re: Doug Gillin?
Exactly.
I'll never understand the sh*t talking of Everts that happens on here and on Twitter.
Under Sheri's watch, we've had some of the most successful years of App football ever, and she's a vocal supporter of all sports.
Charlie Cobb ditched us for Georgia State. Guess which chancellor hired Cobb? (Hint: it wasn't Everts).
I think some people just decided to bash her from day 1 because her name isn't Ken Peacock.

It’s always been my understanding that Yosef club dollars are for scholarships only.appstatealum wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 4:29 pmYes. DGs name has been on a few desks this year. Re: Doug Gillin?
And she brought Gillin, right?
Plus, she’s from Nebraska I’m pretty sure she understands the value of having a successful AD.
She’s not the public cheerleader we want a la Peacock, but you can’t argue with her laissez faire approach with Gillin

And we can't fully fund with current Yosef Club donations.. so where do you think the remainder comes from? Re: Doug Gillin?
True, and not sure if Drink had it but wasn't there an arrangement where the Yosef Club paid Satt like $100K+ a year to make a certain number of appearances at events? So, they can add to a coach's overall compensation package.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 4:39 pmAnd we can't fully fund with current Yosef Club donations.. so where do you think the remainder comes from? Re: Doug Gillin?
Yosef donations do go directly to fund student-athlete scholarships. The connection with other costs is that our total scholarship tab is right at $6,000,000. Yosef donations per year are less than $4,000,000. The gap is filled from the athletics budget.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 4:34 pmIt’s always been my understanding that Yosef club dollars are for scholarships only.appstatealum wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 4:29 pmYes. Joining Yosef or increasing donations if you're able is vital to the long-term health of App State Athletics.

Sarcasm font. But likely as reliable as many other posts.bcoach wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 3:28 pmReally?mike87 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 2:33 pmI have a reliable source that says DG brought in Drink as an temporary HC to give our real guy another year to gain experience. He then sold him off to Mizzou knowing the guy couldn't recruit but could hold the place together for a year while the fan base got over the loss of Satt. Things are all going according to DG's grand plan.

Due to some, uh, "life situations" I haven't donated to the Yosef Club in over 8 years. But, I donated online today. It was only $50. I can't afford much. I challenge anyone else that hasn't donated in awhile to do the same. Maybe everyone that reads YC already donates regularly. If you don't, now is a better time than any other. We need to show this program that we support them.

Well that and the time at a game she pronounced appalachian wrong. She might be chancellor but she is no Ken Peacock.SayYesToTheRock wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 4:33 pmExactly.
