I’ve never had any interaction with him, but I’ve heard nothing but good things about all of his intangibles and ability to lead. They say he’s a fantastic recruiter, as well. I’m also very excited to see the staff that he’s gonna pull in. He has a ton of connections. This is a great day, IMO.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 5:22 pmI've never actually heard coach Clark speak. I'm sure he is bright (otherwise they wouldn't have hired him) but I have no concept of his football IQ. Does anyone have any clips of interviews?
Is Clark a recruiter? A player's coach? An offensive guru? Or is he kind of a Dabo Swinney "good 'ol boy"?

Very intelligent guy, definitely a players coach. He is pretty soft spoken in a normal setting, but I’ve seen him get down right fired up in the sideline. I’d say he is a pretty balanced coach in all fronts. If we get the right assistants and staff around him, this thing could be real special.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 5:22 pmI've never actually heard coach Clark speak. I’m more excited and confident about this hire than I was at this time last year. Congratulations Head Coach Clark and we are excited for you. Now, beat UAB like a drum!

I have known Shawn since 1995. He is all of the above. You are going to love this guy.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 5:22 pmI've never actually heard coach Clark speak. I encourage everyone to listen to the interview he did after the Bowl game last year (posted above). Clark is the real deal! When he starts talking about Greer is when you can really get a feel for him and how he operates!

Re: OFFICIAL: SHAWN CLARK HC
About three years ago my son and I were walking into the Athletic Center to look at the football trophies on a Saturday afternoon in March. Ran into Coach Clark as he was headed out. No idea why he was there on a Saturday afternoon in March, but I just said “Hi Coach”. I am sure he had things to do, but he stopped and talked to me like I was a long lost friend about App football. I was very impressed and been pulling for him since then. Excited about the hire!!

From time to time we say or ask for certain threads to come down. This time it should really happen. Please delete the Drink related threads. He’s gone and the Clark era begins. Zero point in going on about that other guy any longer- 19 plus pages on one is enough.
