You guys are getting ridiculous.

If Drinkwitz was still the coach of App State right now, every single one of you would be hee-hawing about how well deserved this was and that he should win it.

I’m not happy with how he left either but cmon.
Taking over an already successful team is not as impressive as turning around a program that's been losing for years.

But which school should he be recognized for being the coach at? The one he bailed on or the one he is bailing out?

Being nominated is a great recognition for both Coach Drink and for Appalachian. No reason we should be bitter about this, especially now that the pieces seem to be falling favorably into place with Shawn Clark. Personally, I find it hard to believe he would win for the same reasons most are citing above. These awards usually go to either a coach who has sustained success or who has executed an impressive turn around (exceeding expectations). I do think that 12-1 would be considered "exceeding expectations" to move observers, but not by a huge amount. 13-0 would have been a better argument (obviously). Regardless of who wins, it's great for App to be associated this this kind of news!
